  1. Hey you, if you still un-decided, go with both. My SS which I rode this morning in the freedom ride around Johannesburg.
  2. I would go with black housing and black tape. Finish off with yellow end tape and bar ends.
  3. Pro cyclist in the 50-60's. I have seen stems and seat pins branded Barale but not a bike before. No doubt a commemorative decal by Colnago in the early 90's. Lower grade Nago's were being manufactured by smaller co. under licence at that time if my memory services me correctly and could explain decal.
  4. Are these for sale to the public and if so where is the nearest outlet in Sandton?
  5. Yep, early 90's Nago shod with very entry level Campagnolo groupset from the throwaway Triomphe/Athena era. Groupset quickly discontinued and Chorus introduced. The frame is red so will have some appeal if in reasonable condition. The stem would have been a rare find were it not so scuffed!
  6. Ask your LBS to scratch around their small parts bin. If they don't have any try a specialist nut and bolt place. They often have the exact part at a fraction of the original LBS cost. The bolt may not be chromed but of a higher quality and lighter weigh.
  7. I am keen and will let you have details by latest Mon am. Thanks!!!!!!!!
  8. Unfortunately the seller appears to be sending the goods door-to-door which does cost Euro100.00. Sending the goods normal international delivery often results in goods being delayed or lost by SAPO and you claiming non-delivery and them having to refund or send another lot of goods.
  9. Love the cable end nipples/protectors!
  10. This would/could be a nice project to restore back to former glory: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/154222-bianchi-57cm-road-frame-fork-bb-stem-and-bars/
  11. I run a 10spd cassette wheel set on one of my bikes with 7spd index Campagnolo shifter. I am able to get the 7spd lever to change 9 positions loosing only one sprocket. Set up to lose lowest gear (biggest sprocket). Most RD shifters were friction rather than index so you could use on triple. Triple road cranks were popular in the 80-90's.
  12. Your Cosmos looks very nice with the frame in very good condition. IMHO there is nothing wrong with a modern equipped old stead. During our recent social ride in the cradle we marvelled at how quickly one "ran out of gears" on the older 5 and 6 speeds, especially on the hilly bits. Well done!
  13. Neill, that Colnago has been for sale for at least 2 months. It was previously resprayed and not a good job. Stripping the paint and respraying it with new decals would cost you another R2,500. An 80's groupset is going to set you back another R3,000 to R10,000. What size frame do you ride? Edit: Just seen Eppie's post above. Explains the position. Stay clear.
  14. Found a use for your old frames guys:
  15. Thinking about doing something similar on some Delta covers!
  16. I saw a closeup of the engraving and it's really good. An improvement on the original IMHO
  17. Send JMK1 a PM. I am sure he can assist you.
  18. Who needs brakes on such a cool bike! Badsam, that is pretty and I am blue with envy. Love it, love it
  19. Twas me! I will be in contact shortly.
  20. A couple of guys asked if you were joining us but I told them you in CT.
  21. Great to meet so many like minded people and look forward to the next ride. Thank you for taking some pictures, unfortunately I left my phone at home this am.
  22. My son is going to ride my Blue Sheep, 979 also without decals as yet! Look forward to meeting you!
  23. Ghibli disk wheel. Priceless,
  24. The ITM bar fits the Alter stem perfectly. The steerer adapter is work in progress!
