Well done on your podium Aaron (on the hardtail! - there goes my excuse for being so slow on the technical stuff...)
Thanks man - we havne't officially met.
Where're A A Ron's numbers?
18 333km
730h 21m
228 423m
440 rides
New route cuts out Van Schoors and heads for an extended stint on the N7. Interesting
Cut down to the bone.. Two tendons (pinky and ring finger) cut off. Operation was a success. Doctor will be checking to see if the skin will grow back or if he'll need plastic surgery on the hand. He complained that plastic would be too heavy and that he would prefer carbon. So far, so good. He should make a full recovery.
He showed me pictures.. I threw up and we laughed. All things considered, he's lucky to still have all his fingers.
He is in very good spirits and we've already started bike shopping.
Yoh that sounds rough! Must have been horrific. Heal up dude - pass on my regards please.

Stricker is in hospital
Here's hoping the pain meds are keeping the eina under control.
Recover swiftly, man.
What are the nature of the injuries? I wondered what happened to him.
Some good points. Carbon wheels are fine - no issues.
it comes down to tyre (tire) choice and making sure your sealant is topped up after every stage. Book a service package - it's a must. I've used Vittoria Barzo 2.25 29er rubber in both Epics I've participated in - no issues.
Was told on Monday by the Doc no K2C. 10-day antibiotic for a secondary sinus infection
Had to dig a little deep for this race,
Was surprisingly very hard for me
Very Good Training
to Savage Boys ...Did tons of work upfront
Good job man. You were the only other guy helping up front. Still remember: "Are we going to breakaway today?" We should have...
Zwift. Was a life-changer for me after my injury in June.
I dislocated my elbow and fractured my radius. Spent 6 weeks (5 weeks actually) in a cast and used a number of different Smart Trainer IDT set-ups - Tacx Flux and Vortex, Cycle Ops Hammer and Wahoo Kickr.
While the direct-mount trainers were the best and offered the most 'natural' feel and most accurate power readings, the Tacx Vortex was the most affordable set-up and wasn't too bad from a power reading perspective (you do occasionally get wheel slip, but I ran lower pressure and got some heat into the tyre before starting workouts) .
Did around 1800km and 70hours. Was around 10-13hours per week. Didn't lose any fitness.
Feeling better. Cast is off and flexibility is returning albeit slightly - elbow is pretty stiff and locked almost. Still some pain and tenderness but hoping to go outdoors in about 10 days or so. Can't wait - trainer is killing the mojo. Might be back at some events in September but all hinges around the confidence and arm strength. If anything the goal will be to ride DC with Savage.
No Pure Savage MTB DC team... Not enough riders. The Savages that MTB, ride road at DC
We have heard rumours that the team spirit & fun factors are real good at the back of the field. Maybe Team Gemini must do a second lap next year so that they can see the yellow team in action! (and get a few pavement hopping lessons)
Think Rawson were beaten by 5min in 2015 and that's because they all stopped at the top of Tradouw to fix one of the rider's bikes... Think about that for moment. That said the Gemeni guys are awesome men - I know Neil personally and we've ridden many times together.
One doesn't simply 'join' Pure Savage... Great bunch of guys - fast, committed and wicked humours. I think the key word is fast but then I'm not quite sure why I'm in the team...
i'm so glad i ride in %. i wudn't like to ride with or even worse ride behind a guy taking a leak during a race. When I get promoted to $ i will make sure i ride upfront all the time so that no1 pee on me
Especially when there's a headwind like we experienced...
ok, so savage was talking about the slower rider not the faster one?
But the question remains ... DID savage beat the slower rider?
Of the two Savages that stayed in the bunch we got 23rd and 69th - 2h21. And yes, we beat the slower rider . We're just average okes trying to mix it up with the faster guys
I was right next to the guys in question ,
My first reaction was like What the hell, then it changed to ...im tasting blood and this guy is about the let it flow..WOW...
Guy that was next to me, that I personally witness doing this deed got himself a podium.
Unless you telling me there was another guy in red doing the same thing,,, if so then maybe he got top 100 yes
Was another guy in red. Same team though.
The certain fellow in question made top 5 on the day actually better but leave it there.
That being said, if reliving yourself during the race makes you achieve that, who are we as NON achievers ( Unless one of your boys actually beat him?) to say what he does is wrong or that he shouldn't do it?
Its like saying wanking is better then having sex ,but you are still a virgin
Try it, maybe one of you guys will achieve what he did on Sunday
Once again, ITS FRIDAY
So just having a little forum fun,, don't take it to serious MR Savage
He didn't come top 5 - he was in the top 100...
You riding with the Pure Savage Cycling Club guys? Cool - hopefully we see you out on the road
We're not a club, we're a team. That's why Volvo is sponsoring us for 2016/17. Those interested in the kit and want to order: that's cool, thanks for the support. The sponsors will be left off the shirts unless you're a team rider
Amped as a pig in poo. Last tough session in the bag and all that's left are a few soft pedal recovery rides, pre-race warmup on Friday and bike check. Looking forward to some pain with the Savages

Chips were built into boards. Nobody could ride without a board. No orange chips were used in the race.
