Benky has about roughly 20km to go and then he'll have a right turn which will give him a nice moderate tailwind.
According to the dots it seems that Abdullah didn't stop at Solitaire and shot past.... Any confirmation on this???
According to the dots, Benky is close to Solitaire... and Abdullah about ±20km behind.
Think both will do another stop here as this is the last place for any supplies before the finish and that last 60km is a brutal stretch.
Understand your concern, but you'll never know until you've experienced it for yourself.
Hey guys
Does anyone know where I can donate (drop off) old cycling kit that's not being used anymore?
Have quite a few jerseys and bibs that I'm not using anymore.
Stellenbosch/Durbanville/Bellville area
Thanks
Hey guys...
Apologies if I hijack this thread, but seeing while the discussion is around Wahoo, I'd like to know from the fellow wahoo (bolt) users, How do you guys find the battery life?
On yesterday's 124km ride (6hr moving time) 7hr37min elapsed time, I had 18% batt life left. Now this is probably not bad at all, given I have turned off everything that will only chow battery life.
I do want to find out from you fellow users, does the strava live segment alos chow alot of battery life or not really?
Again, sorry for the hijack.
Morning to all the trusty Hubbers
Does anyone have any experience on Goodyear Peak tyres? Looking at maybe getting a set.
- Sidewall
- Mileage
- Grip
Just general kinda comments would be appreciated.
Thank you
Morning fellow bike hubbers...
Has anyone dealt with Johan Vermaak from MX Alliance before?
Would like to get a bit more info regarding him and MX Alliance, please!!!
Regards
I am super stoked for Julian Alaphilippe... Big fan of him as well, but imo this has been coming. He has shown signs during the TDF already and I think the fact that he didn't won anymore stages during the TDF with his efforts on some stages, this just made him more hungry for this than ever.
For BB or Hub's ?
Sorry... For BB
Morning on this beautiful heritage day...
I know the topic has been discussed a few times on the hub through searches but it is kind of outdated...
So with a few years past is there anywhere in SA where you can buy ceramic bearings?
The popular brands like Kogel and C-Bear is only available overseas as far as i know or are they available locally?
Enjoy your ride today and the braai!!!
Cheers
Morning guys
Anybody have any experience with MTB carbon wheel sets from Summitbikes (Dominic Calitz)?
Thank you
Hey Hubland
Anyone knows of a place where i can donate some cycling gear (clothing)? Preferably in Cape Town area where i can drop it off.
Mostly jerseys/gloves that im not wearing anymore, maybe some kid from a cycling academy can still benefit from it i hope.
I know CWC had a bin as you walked in sometime ago, but i haven't been there in ages. Still there?
Thank you
Hey guys
Anybody perhaps know where and if one can find the string that is part of the BOA system on the Shimano Sphyre MTB shoes separate to buy?
Many thanks
There is a Rockhopper Adventures in Caledon with a satellite shop in Greyton, and there is a bike shop in Gansbaai.
The shop in Bredasdorp has been closed for a while (owner has since passed away.)
There is a bicycle shop in Swellendam, and Riversdal Cycles in Riversdal as well.
There are three bike shops in Hermanus.
What area do you plan to move to? Hermanus is a fair bit away from the rest of the Overberg, and the population density isn't that high.
Pity you weren't around when Euodia Bike shop was for sale, it would have been the perfect start with a shop with an already established client base.
Edit: Scratch Rockhopper in CAM country.
Bike shop in Gansbaai is also closed down. No more.
My trusty old HT purchased 8 years ago for less than R20K, have over 42,000km on it with more kilos being added every week.
That said, now I also have a FS in my garage worth more than R20K and it is more fun & faster in just about every aspect... (and far less expensive to maintain than I anticipated).
That "perception" might have more truth in it than you imagine.
Willie, then i must seriously been doing something wrong as i find that a full sus is more expensive to maintain than a hardtail...
I have been toying with the thought for a number of months now to go back to a hardtail, but thinking of that long corrugated karoo roads in the middle of the night... you will be the first one to slap me through the face.
Hey guys
Any one know where i can purchase a silicone cover for a wahoo element bolt in South Africa?
Very much thanx!!!
COME ON TELL US WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE ON SALE!!
Well, i'm looking to buy the Wahoo Element Bolt (which you have on sale) but it's only the computer.
What will the bundle price be or should i rather wait for Black Friday?! (or is that to early to mention)
come on you guys, you know you can't do a ride like this and not do a FULL ride report.
ONS WAG
@slowbee, I need your help again (your threats are worth more than mine)
As soon as i can sit properly on my cheese crated ass...
that sucks, where were you parked? just asking so people know what the MO is of these chops
I've parked at ICC convention centre a few times. nice and equidistant between start and finish, straight off the highway and i suppose secure.
We parked close to the staring venue on the castles side... not sure which flippen street it is. Quiet a big parking area filled with other cyclist as well and a about 800m away from the start. Hence the reason we parked there.
Bit of mixed emotions for my wife and i at the moment...
We did our 1st ever CTCT and being the loving husband i am i dropped down from my starting group to my wife's group (4G) to ride with her and just enjoy an amazing day out on the bike and amazing it was. It truly is the most beautiful race in the world and a super fun day out enjoying the vibe.
Rolling across the finish amped that we just completed our 1st ever CTCT and that on our MTB's, we were on a high but that quickly turned into anger and disgust as we were informed that our car was broken into and almost everything was stolen... All our bags with our clothes, extra cycling clothes and cycling stuff, my personalized Scicon cycling bag and some other stuff... Turns out that 3 other cars in the same parking area was also broken into. Went to the police station in Buitekant street to report the case for insurance purposes and it turned out that in the time we spent at the polce station 7 more people came in to report that their cars were broken into.
Lesson learnt the hard way, next time i will rather bring someone with to drop us off.
