Definitely the toughest one I've done so far, heard beforehand they removed the sawmill climb from last year so I thought it would be easier, ya right...... I have have major respect for the guys that finished the Ultra, never mind raced it...

Really enjoyed this race. Awesome singletrack about 80% of the whole route, nice and technical! Only downside was to arrive at the 3rd waterpoint (that we shared with the 25km route) with an empty table staring at me... ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said paramedics found a man lying in the road with his bicycle on top of him. Apparently the man was on his way to work and was riding on the pavement when he slipped and fell onto the road. He was able to get up, but was hit by a bus which was unable to avoid him. Jackson said the cyclist suffered severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The bus driver was treated for shock and received trauma counselling. - SAPA
