  1. And here i thought snakes is the only danger at Contermans!! Stopped at other riders and the guy was explaining to one of the girls the size of the cobra that was on her left hand side while she was looking the other way, luckily his speed and noise scared the snake off!!! No one said MTBing is for sissys hey!!!!
  2. The whole "thing" looks the wrong way round!!
  3. Hee haa, Meerendal is still part of the Epic 2015 so maybe the closed single tracks will be open again!!
  4. Contermanskloof..........last night
  5. Don't worry about the hard saddle, get yourself decent MTB riding shorts as that shammy inside will help for sure. I ride with a hard saddle which is better and lighter and for mountain riding with single tracks, switch backs etc it's better as the saddle is "smaller" and makes the on / off easier. Look at getting First Ascent or Fox shorts, their shammy's last long!! Oh, and off course, Don't by the makro special, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys! Welcome to the world of MTB !!
  6. wow!!! Love his work!!
  7. !@#$%^&*%^$@ I MISSED IT!!!!!!!!!!! Hate watching re-runs, it's just not the same!!!!!!
  8. Cool, i will get everything together and email you once ready for collection. Good luck.
  9. So , what about the ARGUS MTB race a week before, are they going to change that name to the "Stellenbosch MTB Tour" perhaps ??
  10. So where is the Cape Town drop off point(s) ? Also have some kit and pedals etc to hand in.
  11. Maybe Cape Town RM suppliers can to the same down here!! Would love to have a few Rocky Mountains to play with while i also wait for my lotto winnings!!
  12. Sounds like a happy ending after all, however why the need to go this far to get customer service. I agree, your LBS is your service provider and they should jump to keep you as a customer. Well done CWC, good PR from one cyclist to the next!! PS : You can buy a TITAN, they don't brake!!!
  13. Welcome and be sure to also check out "Ladies & Bicycles" under the Chit Chat banner and don't hesitate to contribute as well. Happy Hub Cycling. PS : Hope you ride a MTB!!
  14. Thank You Bicicletta!! My one Crank Brothers pedal broke last week Thursday (mainly due to lack of TLC from my part), sent it to Bicicletta on Friday and received them back yesterday, repaired and as good as new! This is excellent service and that's why i will keep supporting them for as long as i can. Yes i am happy man now as my bike is whole again!! Thank You Bicicletta!!!
  15. If you like MTB and want to continue with MTB, which you should then get a pair of slicks on her and you are good to go. I did it on a TITAN 29er with slicks and it was perfect, seeing it's your first big race your aim is probably to finish as suppose to breaking records, so i think you will be fine. Wlecome to the MTB WORLD!!
  16. Yes i can also recomend Bicletta!! They sell nice stuff!! http://bicicletta.myshopify.com/
  17. NESPRESSO!! And when on the road Seattle Coffee Company..
  18. Will be there like a bear!!!
  19. Looking at the heading now it probably does not make sense, but i need to know. Talking about 29er Hard-tail only here. Love the look of the Merida Niner 1000 and it has good components and is fairly lite. Rocky mountain, a more plain looking bike but built quality i think is better and with just as good components on. I do more XC and search for technical single tracks when i ride. Price for both is roughly the same Which one is best to go if say i want to buy for a stage race like W2W ? Comments / Advise please ?? Thanks
  20. Sitting here and reading the report makes me want to go and do the race again!! The steep uphills was rewarded with fantastic single tracks!!
  21. We were on last years waiting list number 91 and did not get in, this year we moved down to the 50's and are in!!! Keep checking your emails and keep in contact with them, as they say you never know as there might still be space available 2 months before the event, so keep fit just in case!!

    Argus MTB

What a brilliant track!! Loved it all the way and a big improvement from last year, or should i say the last 10 years!! My Strava recorded 1555 m elevation!! High enough for me that's for sure!!
  23. The new Silverbacks are not bad at all and for entry level riding for flat-ish roads and not too much loose gravel etc they will be just fine. Especially for that price also!!!
  24. SWM1 Did you do the Full or Lite Xterra ?? Want to know if you also found the MTB ST section to cramped and the waterpoint messed up everything. Felt like we were a bunch of sheep following each other!!! Slowest 12 or as per strava 14 km's i have ever done ??
