  1. Anybody familiar with the MTB trails in Rotorua? Saw a map with some trails and recon best might be to get in touch with somebody familiar with these - quite keen on a trip to Rotorua once we are allowed
  2. 1 - If you don't like it, don't read it. 2 - Yes we have problems to, it is different than SA and this forum gives us the chance to share our good our bad and our ugly with other cycling-loving-exZAR-newKiwis.
  3. Your last sentence is similar to a fat guy eating a hamburger, chips and a diet coke and them complaining about his weight...........
  4. I think immigration has a lot to do with personality. In the end you go to filter out all the noise and do what makes you happy! I don't think that NZ is the land of milk and honey - all you do is substitute your existing problems for some new ones, you also do add to your list of wonderful experiences and memories!
  5. ".....Caitlyn Davies and her father, Jonathan, arrived in New Zealand on a work visa in 2015. A few months later Caitlyn's mother Charmaine, and then 1-year-old brother, Jonathan, arrived in New Zealand on work and visitor visas. They were granted further visas in 2016. Caitlyn's interim visa expired in July last year, meaning she was unlawfully in New Zealand. Since then the family has fought for her to stay in the country. Her father works on a farm near Geraldine......" Their Visa conditions stipulate that it is time to go. They knew the rules when they signed up and now they would like to change it - which NZers don't allow. There is other means for her to stay in the country (medical waiver) but with a work visa for the parents its unlikely. Sorry to say but this is the parents fault. What really gets my blood boiling is ZARs that demand and think they are entitled to privileges of NZ citizens - you are a guest in their land until you are a citizen.

  11. They only know her for a day but they are already in trouble for not knowing her birthday!!!!!
  12. Think there should be two routes...... The 47km one and then the original route for all the moaners, you just need to sign an indemnity and state that you will not require any assistance on route, medical or evacuation. There we go all happy!
  13. This might be classified as modern art....................BUT HOW THE HELL DID YOU COME ACROSS THIS?????????

  15. LOL - yes I am sure the staffy will destroy the garden, therefor no more snacks for the squirrel and he will leave!
  16. I found a squirrel in my vegetable garden Yesterday........ any body with a similar problem and how did you get rid of the squirrel? I can imagine that 1 squirrel can cause the damage of 10 rats!
  17. The area is about 5 x 10 meters perhaps? I really like the square raised beds as it gives good "all round" access and even small girls can reach with scissors :-)
  18. Here is our attempt...... Started of with a run down area of our yard Then decided it was starting to look to scruffy and time to make something proper And ended up with this :-)

  20. Removing participants' and spectators' passion for the sport - this can be done, and has been doen in many ways.........
  21. If it is on the stanctions it should not be a problem - might be the seals that is still bedding in? See if you can find your forks service manual on the interweb, and see how often it needs to be serviced. However - service your fork in the next 20h of riding!
  22. forgot to add......... once done get stickers from Tyrone!
  23. Try and repair it as follows (worth a shot): 1) Drill 1mm holes at the end of the cracks - this will prevent the crack from "growing" 2) Weld the crack closed - obviosly take it to somebody that can weld aluminium 3) See if you can get a piece of alumium that is the same as your bike (should be 6000 or 7000 series aluminium) and beef your frame up by welding it in to that small triangle between the upper, down and sea tubes. 4) Have your frame powdercoated afterwards - the baking of the frame - part of powdercoating - would allow for "aging" of the aluminium welds
  24. can be done - I have on a previos occasion beefed up a cracked frame, with another piece of 6000 series aluminium before.......
