You can nock out the bearings on the SLX BBs, have a look in the Technical Q&A forum and replace the bearings only should not be more than R100-200

No they don't. If I ride at Tokai where do I say that they may represent me? I mean its not like they say you will be represented by Tokai MTB, or the activity card. Would a Tokai MTB club, representing the riders not be an entity that carries a bit of weight be a good start? If Tokai MTB now goes to PTA, they will say how many do you represent......show me your members.

They represent trail builders not the riders as far as I know.

Sooner or later this will escalate beyond thehub and Tokai MTB. Address the problem while it is still in "your" control might be the best solution. Imagine the damage a protest would do to relations if all riders decide to rogue ride for a weekend to show their dissatisfaction ....................
