S Shut up and take my member fee! Clubs do add value in the sense that they bring structure and clout to an idea / group of people......

I have been looking to take my MTB of the beaten track......sleep a night or two in the veld and mountains and come back totally refreshed and recharged for life......but alas. It seems that every piece of land, gorge river and mountain is owned by somebody and access to this is strictly prohibeted if you have two wheels and wish to sleep in the veld. I have been looking at the cape ranges (Bainskloof to Jonkershoek area) on google earth and there is PLENTY of paths and the scenery is unbelievelable! Surely capenature / SANparks can be more accomodating? Have anybody else run into the same problems or am I the only fool that wants to do an "outride"?? ***Some hubbers already helped me with numbers and advice on previous trips which just shows that thehub is a wondefull place :-)

Just a couple of questions.... Is there a Tokai MTB club? Have it been tried in the past? Surely if there is club, clubmembers would be more "willing" to assits with the build days. Also all communication regarding Tokai forest / plantation from the rangers / cape nature can go to the club and the club can adress it?

Went from 4 to 1......... I realized my obsession and are trying to supress it. Well acctual I have one that I ride, one that is a show piece, one for my wife , 1 in pieces waiting for assembly and a potential other one.......

If you really want to help fellow hubbers, don't put a price next to the goods you want to sell. Rather say - "I want to help you and you may pay me what you feel you can afford for this piece of equipment" If you are not willing to do that you sound like somebody p!ssed-off for loosing out on a deal.... nothing more.

We had a simaler bike at our school.....at a fair..... I belive that you should try riding such a bike cross armed, left hand on the right grip, and right hand on the left grip. I once did this on my bike, while at school, and just moered over..... You should try it! Or not!

Ever tried riding with a seized headset? It is impossible to stay upright. Try balancing your bike on its BB and spin both wheels...... See if the bike stays upright.

Dont worry will ask before I do this and get the required permisions. An overnighter is way more exciting than a day ride!

Hi, Has anybody started in Jonkershoek and rode over the mountains at the back to Fraanshoek? I am quite keen to do it and sleep in the mountains while at it.... Some advice and ideas would be appreciated! Thanks

HTFU is no substitute for BFC ( be fooking clever).... The rain is not the problem but the 30-40km winds in the mountain:-) that makes 10deg feels like -10'C! Besides I am sitting next to the fire place with some redwine!
