  4. .......get the shop to strip the part of one of their bikes.........
  5. Take it to the bike shop and have them send it to the CB agent. Mine did the same and needed some oil and seals.
  6. All values approx. 11.5kg - XC 13kg - Trail 15kg - Am 18kg - FR 19kg - DH
  7. Why should we keep quite about bad service? I mean this is not the first time that cyclist have received poor service from this LBS and this has been going on for some time? Obviosly don't care untill the news spread..... then they are sorry and try to safe face....
  8. somebody had a "brain fart" and think they can boycott CRC! You will never be able to boycott good service. Some of our LBS are like "qouta players" - moaning cause they are not good enought and miising all the action!!!
  9. ....I would rather deal with a kiosk that have stock and are friendly than an uptigth sales person that can cycle but have no personality Word of advice - good cyclist don't always make a good sales person. Epic Sports in Doringkloof is FAR better than FPC Irene - to start with they return phone calls :-)
  10. I also have never received anything but poor service from FPC Irene. Here is my incidents: 1) Asked for a continetal tube, the guy answred sorry the sell only the best. 2) Anything tubes going to 2.35 - no we don't cater for that 3) Asked something for my DH bike - Sorry DH is not big in Pretoria we don't cater for DH. Its fine if you don't stock it but at least you can offer to get me some..... 4) The service deparment once did a jippo move on my bicycle fork (instead of getting the right part). 5) They also screwed up my braking hoses (braked the part of with the swivel eye) and I had to buy new ones They further got this sales lighty out of matric that think he is gods gift to cycling........ OK all now out of my system......sorry.
  11. Yes it does matter. Rule of thumb: use a long cage with 3 rings, medium cage with 2 rings and a shortcage with 1 ring A short cage will not work on a bike with 3 front rings, the derailer can not take up all the slack in the chain (from the biggest to smallest ring)
  12. anybody???
  13. Hi, I have a CB Joplin seatpost and would like to know who can help me to service mine - I would like to do it myself but need some advice / manual (the manul is non -existant on the CB interweb)
  14. ....check that the cable is securely fastened on the jockey
  15. Quick release is ussaly 10mm and not 12mm....... I converted my bike (135mm QR) to a 10mm thru axles...
  16. Yip happy with the joplin, small play but I think they corrected it from the Joplin 4 onwards
  17. Santa Cruz Nomad 1 Fox 36 Vanilla RC2 Fox DHX Coil 5.0 CB Joplin R post CB Mallet peddals Juicy 7 Brakes 203mm rotors front and back XT Crank Saint Hubs front and back SRAM X9 shifters and jockey, LX front derailer Maxxis High roller 2.35 front, Crosmark 2.25 back 16kg.....
  18. We are in the global market since the invention of the INTERWEB....... that is why we buy from CRC and CWC
  19. I actually went to both, 2 days at Misty Valley lodge, 2days at Mankele. Misty Valley lodge is more family orientated and Mankele more biker orientated. Still enjoyed both places and will go back to both..... Surely one can do 30kms without repeating the same STrack? Was also a bit Peedoff when I saw the under construction labels.....

  21. Thanks - Why not warm soapy water, or did I mis-read? Does the frame need a clear coat afterwards and if it does what works best?
  22. Hijack - Ho do one remove anodizing?
  23. I was there between Xmas and new year. My experience was totally diffrent to just keep pedaling.... I really enjoyed it. Sure the tracks is short (7km), but one can do more than one... Some parts of the trail is really technical and some is easy.... We even did a night ride, which was awsome, riding between the animals, seeing their eyes glow....... I think it is grat place and will definitly be back Rating: 9/10 for Accomodation 7/10 for trails 10/10 for effort
