  1. My frame..... bike should be finnished by Saturday! Will have a fox36 Vanila on it.
  2. Spot the AM frame......yes it is mine.
  3. Here is an idea..... 1) How about all bikes get barcoded (or simaler). 2) The barcode is then linked to a database with a description and status (Stolen, lost etc.). 3) Before you enter a cycling spot (Groenkloof, VTM, Tokai, MTN CP etc.) you r bike gets scanned to see if it is stolen etc. 4) Obviosly you are not allowed in the cycling spot if your bike is not tagged 5) Before you are allowed to take part in a race your bike get scanned to see if it is stolen. 6) Obviosly you are not allowed to race with an untagged bike 7) No new bikes are allowed to be sold that is not tagged This can assist in killing the market for stolen bikes...... Above is just a briefe description of a concept and sure there is many loop holes etc. The above seems to be a bit of a hassel, getting a barcode, register, scanning before racing or riding - but what is the alternative? Keep on getting bike jacked?
  4. there is acctualy a speed limit on strack...... FLATOUT ALL THE WAY!!
  5. I am not confused :-), but a firm believer and so say mr. fox36!
  6. Suspension consist of the some or all of the following: Fork, shock, tires, your body, anything else? So yes mostly on a MTB but roadbikes also has some suspension - frame flex, body, tires
  7. Suspension makes you faster. The idea of racing is to win. So suspension will help you to win :-)
  8. Have to disagree..... suspension opens a bunch of new posabilities / trail options. Yes you don't need to dodge every root or rock, but this also means you don't need to dodge that high speed rock garden, you are more in control, braking is better when the trail turns gnarly....your trackion is just there when you need it. Also what is a proper line? The smoothes one or the fastest one? I would say the proper line is the fastest one, and with a fullsus the fastest line don't need to be the smoothes....heck it can have ruts, rocks, drops.....
  9. Suspension is there for handling, a by-product is comfort.
  10. so the answer is not much?
  11. Do carbon handle bars "soften" trail vibrations? Can one acctualy notice it?
  12. william's bike shop in somerset west. i live in pta but buy from him....... Service is why i do it.
  13. withdrawn doesn't mean not guilty. Maybe all of the shops involved should releas a combined statment and explain themselves........ But they won't because they don't give a damm about their customers. You can decide for yourself if they are guilty, walk in to any of those shops see what drives them money or customers.
  14. bell ray is the closest to the fox oil. Thw weight and centistokes differ quite a bid between brands...... Ones 15 is anothers 5. For the fox stuff try cwc.
  15. keep in mind that the deemax is dh race wheels...... For 2010 the shaved approx 500g of aset of wheels, thus they are not as bom proof as previosly. The idea was to rather let the wheel buckle and twist before you get a flat etc. As mentioned they are made for racing and would probably need regullar truing.
  16. intense had a sick looking 29er DH rig, albeit a proto.......... Would have loved to take that baby for a spin.
  17. First tell us what bike you ride, what your riding style is and where you prefer to ride.....
  18. She resprayed my fox 36 fork.... Think the job was pretty OK.
  19. Get a granny gear as well, remember that if you do an allmountain setup you will compromise your climbing position..... reading your post is seems that you plan to go down steep terrain as well - you will need a graany gear to get back up...... Fork seems fine - good idea, looks like to right tires for the job..... See if you can get a dropper seatpost! Where do you plan to ride?
  20. Only know of Cycle Delic
  21. same here - for the last year I bought nothing from FPC or Cyclelab.... (since then I spend about R6000.00 on goods excluding my new frame of R20 000.00) I am sure they don't give a flying duck, but at least I am happy!
  22. ..... a good powdercoater will in anycase sandblast the frame to ensure that his powder sticks..... I had 2 or 3 frames powdercoated with sandblasting..... no problems yet. Go and inspect the works, make sure the owner understands that you require minimum blasting and speak to the guy that does the acctual sandblasting and explain to him the delicay of your frame..... and then hope for the best!
  23. Demand new wheels. The CB received a crapy review in MBUK, had to do with the freehub sealing and weight. my opinion.... Get ZTR laced to hope hubs.
  24. Your kidding right? :-) The bike park is pretty good, nice envorment to perfect your skills
