  1. hahahahaha Dino, don't bring your logic here. Everyone knows it's demon possession mistaken identity and/or they were never dead but in hiding or kidnapped when it comes to these sorts of soap operas! I am quite interested in the process from here. Start with the B sample and hopefully have some proper guidance IF this is a case of bad management and irregular test findings. If it's an appeal for the sake of an appeal despite the athlete knowing they are guilty then IMHO they should double the ban and make them pay for the testing and legal fees for the appeal and the afters.
  2. You likely wont want to hear this, but this is 99% likely to be user error. you likely paused the activity or accidentally bumped the button. I've used my same model watch for big adventures and short adventures for 3 years now and the only time it wiggs out is when the user cocks up. Lock the screen next time you use it to make sure. I don't recall any software or hardware glitches and I would suggest my watch has seen more action than most.
  3. The levels were 6x that of the recommended level... So no, there is something not right there. 6x isn't bad hydration or 10 days after last dose no matter how you look at it unfortunately
  4. I distinctly remember the weekend Davie George was bust in 2013. Kev was on the start line of the Zuurberg MTB race and entered for the Herald the next day. News filtered in of the positive result and suddenly he was gone. The 360 life banners gone. I believe he was suddenly incredibly ill and unavailable for comment or interview but not at home for a while.... The timing and suddenness of the illness was always a little too convenient. IMHO he doped for a long time. The Emma Sadleir letters also kind of indicated he had a lot to hide.
  5. Wasn't Shan the one dealing? He was certainly the man behind the curtain with Carmen. Pretty sure Davie was doping hard when he rode with Lance and Kev was doping more than a decade ago..... Please Emma, no letters for this! I'd question the association or whether or not the 'top tier' are all intertwined and associated in some way due to the nature of the sport and the size of the proverbial pond.
  6. I don't really watch much MTB to be honest. Even when it's been on DSTV I find the DH and the XCO difficult to engage. I enjoyed the XCC, but realistically am not going to miss it if it isn't on DSTV I'm pretty apathetic tbh If I have the time I will watch what I can, but I'd rather be out riding/running/surfing or golfing or smashing time with the dogs and my son than watching telly. Probably what makes me the perfect DSTV sucker
  7. @MORNE It is the day after Swartberg Gran Fondo! I doubt I will get back from Prince Albert with enough legs or motivation to make this unfortunately.
  8. I have a streaming package from DSTV attached to a normal premium package that has one streaming package already. The bill is split 3 ways. It isn't expensive done that way. I get to watch The Masters, the football, F1, cricket, the cycling and a host of other sport that has no real bearing on my life but I enjoy. It's worth the money for me and it's easy. It also has kids TV, catch up and some cool movies. While DSTV isn't ideal, it IS a complete package and when split how we have done it, relatively inexpensive
  9. I think this sort of marketing/exposure is endemic to the cycling industry in SA. The information is there, but it's only available IF you're already part of the inner circle. Road events are the same, those who know, know, but if you're not on the whattsapp group or active on the right social media platforms in the right circles, it's like looking for Wally without your spectacles on. I have no idea how to rectify it, but it seems to me like organisers cry about not getting enough 'bums in seats' but do absolutely nothing to attract new/more people than those who will be there anyway.
  10. Phentermine! 😝
  11. Absolutely Many banned substances have to do with heightened concentration, numbing of fatigue, heightened focus etc.... Performance enhancing is just that, not exclusive to physical enhancement
  12. Despite the landslide result of the poll, there is STILL no naming and shaming! I feel incredibly let down and deflated by this whole charade.....
  13. Bowls is cut throat!
  14. In jest, but also not really. More like making an ex con a patrolman or an ex poacher a coast guard or ranger...... Both of which happen often in certain places to great success.
  15. What on earth is wrong with you? Are you actively denying the pitchfork wielding mob their time to shine? BURN THE WITCH!
  16. I'm disappointed the naming and shaming has not yet happened......
  17. I read the whole report @Danger Dassie The impression I get is that she had the book thrown at her because she was difficult and she lied. She didn't even request a B sample test or follow any of the usual processes. It seems she chose a story and stuck to it, regardless of the fact that there were some contradictions. It looks like her 'team' were terrible Regardless, 4 years is a long time for a 33 year old. The end of her career I'd assume.
  18. So I see Amy Wakefield has received a 4 year ban for taking the illegal and off market phentermine....
  19. Yeah, so instead of fighting them, use them. They won't change
  20. I think that's quite clever. It immediately stops them from being rogue riders, which they would have remained, eliminating confrontation with them AND gives them a purpose. The club gets free labour. Less rogue riders, free marshals and less confrontation
  21. I play a lot of golf and I don't see this at most places. Even the super larny places like Steenberg, Pearl Valley etc are pretty chilled as long as you're dressed vaguely appropriately and aren't hooning around like a loon. I feel WAY more judged at a trail run or bike ride.
  22. You guys sound like Sport captains being interviewed! 'It didn't go to plan, but we learned a lot and we will definitely come back stronger and better prepared for the next game' said every losing sport captain ever! @dave303e sorry dude. Foot and lower leg injuries don't mix well with the repetition of road running.
  23. It makes sense. That wind and storm could have caused some serious issues with the nets and stones etc above chappies. More pretty serious wind from Thursday through to Saturday night, so if it's enough to close Chappies for any reason, Ou Kaapse is always the contingency. It's a tough route up there, but if there are falling stones etc it's the right call. The wind over there also causes issues with litter blowing into the sea. I remember they banned water sachets but the cups and entire black bags and gel packets all landed up in the sea. Holding thumbs for you guys that they can sort it out and keep it safe
  24. For a speed/race day shoe a 10mm drop is probably perfect. I'd not use it for high mileage training or social runs, but my Mizuno Wave have 8mm and they feel awesome when I want to go fast. The overall stack height is also high, but all of these speed shoes are. Purpose built race shoes are a different breed and I find all of them hurt my eyes in terms of aesthetics and general numbers.
  25. The Pyga 110 is old, heavy and outdated. I also never really enjoyed the floating pivot shock. Smashes out small bump stuff and great grip in and out of corners, but it was wallowy and lacked pop for me. I'd avoid it. The others have covered the other stuff. (This is IMHO, so if you can test ride, do that and decide!)
