  1. If ever I bought a Specialized, it would be this exact one.
  2. I took advantage of Due South's deal a month or so ago, it's the premium package so you get a Heart Rate Strap and a Speed / Cadence sensor in the box as well. Best price by miles!
  3. I have both. For my head shape, I feel the Bell fits slightly better. Both have great ventilation and weight-wise are a couple of grams within eachother. It's a tough choice....... My opinion is try each of them on before you buy and see which one fits your head best and of course, which looks the best..
  4. Rode Sani2C on my ZeroTen, no problems, just needed a complete rebuild after 2 days of mud.... Saw two or three OneTens as well.
  5. Why sweat the small stuff? Rather spend your energy riding the bike you have with the clothes you've got..... You'll come back with a smile on your face, that's what it's all about.
  6. Agree with you 100%! The main reason why SA drivers are so bad is the corruption from licencing to enforcement, another feather in our government's cap.....
  7. I was lucky enough to fly with Rocky a few times, RIP my friend, such sad news.....
  8. Awesome photos! Thanks for the link!
  9. I think I just messed myself......
  10. Eye Witness account yesterday, the taxi was turning right and travelling in the OPPOSITE direction, I thought I made it pretty clear in my previous post....
  11. I went to the memorial ride yesterday and saw exactly where this tragedy took place. The road is close to a perfect road for cycling, nice yellow lane, smooth tar, and reasonably flat. The taxi was traveling in the opposite direction to Burry. With all the holiday traffic on the roads, the taxis were apparently taking a detour through the suburbs to miss the traffic lights and congestion around the Shelley Beach Mall. Burry was travelling North and the taxi South, the taxi turned right, over a solid white line straight into Burry's path. From where the actual impact happend, it looks to me like Burry was in the yellow lane and tried to swerve left (in the same direction of the taxi), but got blocked off. All this not even 100m from his shop, that is how close he was to finishing the ride.... I am of the opinion that it is 100% the fault of the taxi driver, firstly crossing a solid white line and secondly, not even looking out for cyclists at an intersection. I sincerely hope the Law takes It's course and makes an example of him. I think that is the only way to create awareness amongst those who have no regard for the Rules of the Road is to punish them to the maximum.
  12. Great tribute, brought tears to my eyes.... To think what that man could still achieve.... I think we lost the best Mountain Biker the world will (n)ever see on Thursday.
  13. We had a big group ride today, Burry was the main topic for most of the 4 hour ride... I'm glad to see I am not the only one who feels so sad about this tragedy and I never knew him personally.... I really wish I had joined him on more training rides he had organised in Ballito, maar spyt kom altyd te laat......
  14. As far as I remember: 1) Yes you can, however you only have access to your Special Needs bag once on the bike and anything you store in Special Needs is thrown away after the race. 2) You can change your wheels in transition on race morning before the start. As far as I know you have to finish the bike on the equipment you started. Also your wheels would not fit into the special needs bag your are allocated. I don't think the rules at IMSA are the same as the US IM where the pros have access to other wheels. Most guys carry a spare "pre-glued" tubby, if you are stranded, the tech guys will give you another tubby, but you will receive a bill for it after the race. Paul Wolff is quite adamant about that. Tubes, and smaller items you might get for free. Touch wood, my theory of carrying two tubes and two bombs has carried me through two IMSA puncture-free.... Hope this helps. Happy New Year!
  15. It haunts me.....
  16. 2 X votes from me...
  17. Triathlon is just not tested as much as cycling..... There is doping in EVERY professional sport, all the $$$ makes it just too tempting.... As Mark Cavendish said in an interview once, he believes because of all the dope testing, cycling is actually one of the cleanest sports....
  18. That is the best summary of the Lance issue I have read so far!
  19. I agree, an awesome race and it has only improved over the last few years. My Garmin logged 2.02kms for the swim, 86.58kms for the bike and 21.3kms for the run. 3.1kms short, but I'll take it, also did a PB.
  20. I've been swimming with the same model since IMSA this year and I haven't had any issues..... Aqua Sphere's stuff is good quality, I think you got a defective pair, I'm sure they will replace the goggles under warranty. OR... Maybe all the crap in Emmerentia Dam ate away the glue ;-)....
  21. I bought a pair a few months ago... I have been riding with Mavics for the last 2 years. So far I am happy with them, they are comfy, sole is stiff and they look the business...
  22. The seatpost is gray. Now I need a red stem and gray handlebar from Loaded and it's sorted! Buycyle has a decent range of Loaded stuff.
  23. My understanding is Buycycle don't hold stock like CWC. They dispatch directly from the suppliers, the hold up could be the supplier of whatever you ordered is in CT or PE.... Not sure if that is your issue, I have had nothing but great service from Buycycle, I am busy with an exchange at the moment, I ordered the wrong size part and they are swopping it, no questions asked... Try and speak to Martin, he'll help you out for sure!
  24. Collected my PYGA Zero29 on Monday: After the first ride on Tuesday: And.... With a few trinkets added today: Build is: Fox Float RL Fork XT, except brakes, they're SLX FSA Afterburner stem and handlebars ESI Chunky grips Gray Loaded Seatpost KCNC Seat clamp (soon to be a red Loaded seat clamp) Selle Italia C2 Saddle Stans Crest wheelset Blackburn bottle cages. My impressions so far... Awesome bike, no photos can justify just how nice the raw finish is. I haven't ridden a hardtail in 8 years, I found this bike handles far better than my 26er. I am amazed how it climbs!! And the singletrack..... WOW! Now all I need is more time to ride the damn beast!!!
  25. In the Checkers centre, just behind Hooters....
