  1. After seeing these pics, 1x Zero 29 is coming my way.... Percy, Mr Morewood owes you a finder's fee.....
  2. According to my Garmin, 84.78kms, 1180m Elevation gain, Max Speed 98.2km/h.
  3. It was all prettty close, with the conditions and the route, I'm only to happy the bike and run route were a bit shoter... That was an honest course... Very well orgnised, water points and the people manning them were awesome, well worth the entry fee. The goodie bag was a little dissappointing, but I'll take that and sufficient water at all the water points... Well done to the organisers, I'll be back next year.
  4. So, for the first time in 6 months, I get a puncture on the top of Atlas Road, after using 3 bombs (removable valve for some or other reason came loose...), we start walking to the BP to get air... About 200m from the BP a White Toyota Fortuner pulls up next to us and the driver asks us what spares we need, I reply "Just air". He stops, gets out a tubby bag and gives me 2 bombs! I get the tyre pumped and off we go again. Ettiene, if you are on this forum, or if someone knows you on this forum, I'd like to say thanks again for helping me out, if our paths cross again, I owe you a beer or two! It's great to know there are still people like you out there that are willing to help fellow cyclists out!
  5. I've recently changed form Asics to New Balance, couldn't be happier! Give New Balance a try, they're awesome shoes, I never thought I'd find a better fit than Asics, I was wrong....
  6. I also have a 2011 Addict R2 and I love it! It's a light and super responsive ride. I've never ridden a Felt and I'm sure they're decent bikes, but my (biased) vote goes to Scott...
  7. I find it difficult to eat at 04:00, so I skip the coffee and have a cup of Milo to get the energy levels up. If I feel hungry I'll eat a banana before the ride.
  8. HA HA HA HA HA HA, this had me in tears!!!!!!

    Wetsuits

I can vouch for Terry and the Xterra wetsuits, a great product and Terry's service is awesome! You won't be sorry buying a Xterra suit!
  10. I have only received awesome service from ASG, I will happily part with my money when dealing with them!
  11. Updated to 3.7 a few weeks ago, yes it's worth the effort, some good features added, like being able to view your current activity in the history, etc. The only drawback is the update resets the unit to factory defaults.
  12. I can't remember.... It must have been around R300-00, but that was 3 or 4 years ago... Honestly at 4:30am, with freezing hands, I'd pay R1 000-00 for them
  13. Yip, exactly the gloves I have.
  14. I have the LG Wind Tex Eco Flex and they're not nearly as toasty as my Ryder winter gloves... If you can, get the Ryder gloves, no need for inners with them, but I will be going the inners route with my LG gloves....
  15. Damn straight I will, I pay enough tax to exercise my right to vote!
  16. Damn, I miss Cape Town... What a privilege to ride in such a beautiful place.

  18. Dirt Nurse is the best cleaner I've used for road and MTB, carbon or aluminum.
  19. I have a 2011 Addict R2, I love it! It's responsive, comfortable, fast, good looking and try find a 7.2kg bike for the price.... Full Ultegra and the Mavic Kysriums are great wheels. The only changes I made were Conti GP4000s tyres, a shorter stem and a Selle saddle.
  20. 2010 Cannondale Slice 4,
  21. I agree, I had a great time! Well organised and plenty to eat an drink at the finish, I'll be back again next year... It was a pity about the swim being cancelled, but the organisers acted in the interests of everyone's safety. However, I enjoyed the duathlon format and will look at doing a few more duathlons this year! Well done to Troisport and CGT and to all the unsung heroes who made this such a great event!
  22. Hit a pothole inside of the 20km to go mark, punctured BOTH tubes ( my 1st puncture ever in a race) and then realised that I had one 50mm stem valve and one 38mm stem valve tube with me, which wasn't going to work with my 58mm deep sections... Another unlucky cyclist punctured on the same pothole about 10 minutes later and was happy to swap tubes with me so I could get on my way. I didn't get his name, but thanks, it's great that the camaraderie between cyclists is still there, I will return the favour one day! Oh and managed a 3:18.
  23. A Rudy Project Wingspan helmet, some CWC kit and a pair of Oakley Radar Path's.
