  1. Both great bikes, if you compare the top of the range models, it'll come down to personal preference. I chose a Specialized Camber over the similar Scalpel because the Camber offered me better value. I own a Cannondale TT bike and it's the one bike I haven't felt the urge to replace. Lefty's still intrigue me, I'm sure I'll own one in the future.
  2. There is no equivalent to Zipp, sorry....
  3. And so I go full circle...... My first bike was a singlespeed, just converted my PYGA to SS, had a short test ride this afternoon, lots of fun, my thumb did hunt for the shifter on a few occasions.
  4. Cube isn't a large brand in SA, I can tell you the Germans love them. Seen plenty of them in Berlin, there's even a bike shop that stocks everything Cube, from bikes to clothes to accessories accross the road from the hotel I stay in. That aside, as mentioned, the bike needs to fit you properly, also which bike would make you ride more? At the end of the day, we all ride Giants, they're just branded with different names.....
  5. Don't know about Joberg, but normally overnight to Ballito, last week's order took 2 days, I think all the public holidays might have had something to do with the extra day.
  6. Brilliant service! I've ordered on a few occasions from them. Spend as much as you want, they're legit.
  7. Thanks ja you're right, the TMR01 is UCI compilant, that's about the only difference, I've seen a few pro triathletes using the TMR01 with aero bars as a TT bike.
  8. Took delivery of my dream bike yesterday. Can't rave enough about the guys at Chainworx, they made it happen for me, so nice to get service like that!
  9. I am,thanks. There's quite a few hubbers in it this year. I can't believe it's here so soon.
  10. 6 April.
  11. I've been riding a Slice for the last 3 years, I'm respraying the frame after IMSA and I'll be using it for at least another 3 years. It's fast, it fits well, I love it! However, if I win the Lotto on Saturday, I will be ordering a Slice RS..... .
  12. Contact Adhesive works fine. All they do is dye contact adhesive black and sell it to you as wetsuit glue. I've been using it for 3 years with no problems and it's held on all the repairs I've made.
  13. All about how how $$$$$$$ TSA can squeeze out of us weekend warriors. Apparently TSA takes a fair chunk of your entry fee for "sanctioning".
  14. Gatorskins are awesome, the rim tape needs replacing before the tyres. I use 25C foldable Gatorskins as training and racing tyres now.... I get about 20 000kms per set. GP4000's , I find are a great race tyre, a bit soft for training though. That said, their car tyres suck, I get 30 000kms out of them if I'm lucky and I drive a MPV..... At R2500 a tyre one would expect them to last a little longer. Maybe the MTB and car tyres share the same production line.
  15. BMC GrandFondo, available in Aluminium too, not sure on prices, but worth considering.
  16. Awesome! "How does Danny Hart sit with balls that big?" Quote of the day!!!
  17. Cannondale, lifetime warranty on the frame and there's no better motivation to get you on the bike than riding a new bike! I have a 3 year old Slice, upgraded wheels and groupset, I love it!
  18. How does the rotor look? I'd consider replacing the rotor after running a brake pad like that on it......
  19. Now that is profound. Well said.
  20. Assos bibs. How did I ever ride in anything else?
  21. I'd be keen depending on the model and how special the price is.....
  22. Mine, with it's older brother in the background.
  23. Bought my 1st pair last month and a 2nd pair on Wednesday. I could never figure out what all the fuss was about, now I know...
  24. If ever I bought a Specialized, it would be this exact one.
