    Race King

SteveS how easily do they seat?
  2. yip really well marked so no issues
  3. heya red loop is about 12km or so. not much technical stuff, a few ride-overs and a switchback ascent...fantastic views...great track...a bit of climbing on the red route - but only a little bit, really great for beginner to moderate. You'll do the red route in under an hour I am sure and there are two other shorter options and you can do linkups etc http://www.tygerbergmtb.co.za/images/Meerendal%20Red%20Route.jpg
  4. some wildly pretty stuff.. wondering: how long do those carbon chain-rings last?
  5. the fork thing only works on some chips. I have the yellow one and was not timed on a race because of it as the mats did not pick it up...agree with drop out mount - not a chance am I putting anything there.
  6. the issue is not so much the bottle cage as the bottle. I lost a bottle from a ribcage that everyone is raving about. The bottle was of slightly smaller diameter and it came out. that being said the specialized bottle cages are the shiz currently using ravx aluminium ones - no issues at all and they hold the bottles super tight
  7. The issue with mounting it on the frame/fork is that it sometimes does not work because of metal interference.. I have put mine onto the strap of my mtb shoe
  8. 819 is actually heaver than 450 when you add the special nipples - but they are pretty indestructable
  9. some hubs can be modified - many of the sealed bearing units are pretty well modifiable.
  10. awesome picture - but its not the tourmalet at all let alone today its the stelviopass but it will be cool to see what happens in the next hour! hope schleck makes something happen!
  11. hope so I was there in the week and had to make a few calls to the club chairman to find the way:) the trail is as bumpy as heck but once it smooths a bit it is going to be a fantastic addition to the already awesome trails...here is a shot from Saturday evening when we built the last rideover.
  12. I held them upside down for a few minutes pumped them up and down a few times and still nada... at least now I know they have enough oil in them
  13. So what is the deal with forks coming from the factory. I have heard of a number of people having low oil levels straight from the factory. On my manitou minute which I have about 400km on I drained the oil out of the lowers to see what was in there as they felt less slick than I felt they should be (manual says about 16cc per side) there was about 8cc in the one and possibly 2cc in the other side whats the deal? With low levels someone not technically inclined could find them selves with a toasted fork pretty fast because of a lack of lubrication!
  14. why bigger gear? which scene? if you 're out of breath watching maybe you should train more
  15. not sure it is my mates one...nothing fancy
  16. one camera lots of stopping and starting
  17. A quick video of me and a mate taking a quick ride around the Harkerville red route...simply brilliant trail!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT-q269JlKQ

I think coolheat are the agents ?? I got mine from Willie Engelbrecht (WeBike) in Cape Town
  19. that is right royally stuffed I am afraid...amazing that it held seeing it was that far along. You're in for a new frame I guess. If Commencal give you one that would be great! but that depends...what is the warranty and how old is your frame? If you weight the frame you might even be able to see the crack flex under weight
  20. those are all mountain wheels...check the thru axle on the front hub they will be heavy and strong....
  21. what is the difference between the old AC wheels and the new AC wheels?

Velouria: I think we spoke a few weeks back at the Autumn splendor race at Hex River. Asked you a couple of questions regarding your bike. i remember the interesting fork you had. Who would have guessed I'd be riding one just like it so soon

best thing about the atomic blue color that I have - it genuinely glows in the dark. Amazingly cool! my 4 year old loves it! hey love the single speeder Dangle - you must have some seriously long pegs - that thing looks like a 26er it is so tall!!!
