  1. Boa will send you new ones directly. There is an online portal and it took mine about two weeks from what I recall.
  2. Same experience last week. It's a total joke I promised my kids we'd ride there and cannot believe what a disaster it was. The young girl collecting money was clueless as to the direction of the trails etc. Definitely won't be going back.
  3. That number has been the number for WSAR for many years, not sure what the previous number was. Clad to hear that you had a good experience Philip, we work hard to provide was I believe is a world class service in the Western Cape. I am a volunteer with WSAR and we do all sorts of mountain related rescues every year (over 220 operations last year alone) ranging from lost people, downed MTB riders, fallen climbers and injured or sick hikers.
  4. Hi I found a Garmin item on table mountain on Tuesday the 8th (tonight) in the road near the cable station. Describe the product and I'll gladly return oh seven 2 5eight5 42nine4
  5. OK so my sis saw the thread and said I should post my latest project. I've done several guitars but this took something special. Gibson es 335 Trini Lopez semi hollow electric that sounds as good as it looks Many hours lots of learning to laminate and make a vacuum press to do it. Some mistakes experimenting with epoxies and glues. The neck and fingerboard and trim are raw wenge, super stable, hard and beautiful. the raw neck plays really nicely.
  6. I'd bet they will lose a lot of the shine. Anodising creates tiny pores in the surface of the anodising into which the dye goes if you want it coloured. Anodising tends to give a more satin finish. but maybe there is a way that I am not aware of
  7. probably heat treated aluminium machining inside to take various circlips that hold airspring and damper in place highly accurate grinding hard anodising casting/machining crown machining steerer tube press fitting all together dont even go there. It will cost you probably in excess of R15 000 to have them made up
  8. 100% was there yesterday to buy some stuff, super helpful and good pricing
  9. Contermanskloof on Thursday night heading for the Meerendal night ride
  10. I was really disappointed by the number of riders in $ that I saw turfing their gel wrappers on the road deliberately.

agree last years route was terrible. hopefully it improves somewhat. I see it will be @ la Bonheur instead any info? anyone?
  12. clear coat does not always work. I did this with a frame and got a mate in the auto industry to spray it with a high qaulity product used on BMW cars. there are some pinholes in the coating and with the amount I sweat it is now corroding terribly.
  13. RLS is a bitch. I tried supplements but with not much improvement. I've also tried to see if hard training/rest/diet or any other external thing affects it, and I cannot find a pattern. The only thing is if I ride late in the day it is definitely worse that night. It is hereditary as my dad, uncle and gran have it too I am on a med for Parkinson's called Pexola, the GP can prescribe it. As far as I know it is the same med Zola Budd takes as she has done a TV ad for it. It helps, but is not 100% effective. However if I don't take it I cannot sleep at all, I lie there like a twitching zombie all night. I am about to take some long overdue leave and I am hoping that some of it is stress related, will let you know
  14. its an artefact of the digital camera used to take the photo
  15. Bergbok, I was about to ask the same question. I suspect the gyro effect helps, but that it is very small compared to other effects such as steering etc. but if you jump off the bike, it must help to an extent
  16. not sure. But I have to replace my Shimano rings because they are worn out. I have a truvative set that I have ridden for easily 4 times longer and they are still fine.
  17. cheap sram/shimano who cares - sadly as much as I know they can save weight it's a throwaway item did I mention I am looking for cheap
  18. OK hubbers I'm looking for a new ten speed cassette after a very muddy day 2 on Sani2C mine is poked. Who out there in hub-land knows of the best price on a 11-34 cassette and chain? So far Easy bike looks like the cheapest.
  19. Lexx, the snake is an egg eater - may look scary and often they are very feisty but they have no teeth
  20. check these from evo bikes @ R125 http://www.evobikes.co.za/components/brakes/baradine-xtr-m985-organic-brake-pads.html
  21. Hi Tankman, sure I reckon we should give the guys a bit of a help, always worried that it comes across as "I know it all" attitude As for heading straight down to La Belle, I think that might be a better option as it will make the old Oak junction much easier to navigate. earlier i nteh ride there is less traffic but old oak is a busy beast
  22. great ride with the team this morning ! however I'd like to make a few comments: The riding is getting pretty dangerous, there are a couple of guys in the group who are going to cause an accident, it is only a matter of time, not able to hold a line, sudden braking and swerving... Many times the group was riding two abreast across traffic lanes and often outside of the yellow line. At one point on bottelarey rd the youngster in the group was buzzed by a car that could not have been more than two inches from his elbow...close stuff! The group rode like absolute tossers when we got onto old oak intersection and if I was in a car I'd have been well annoyed with bikes weaving in and out of the traffic trying to turn into old oak instead of staying to the outside of the right turning lane as we should. I think we've got to up the game guys. It may not be a bad idea to split the group too as it was pretty big? To the poor bugger who toasted his rear dérailleur and his wheel - bummer dude
  23. x7 2x10 crank is perfect I used one for a long time. Only 8 grams heavier than the x9
  24. yes it is open in the week same price I think there is a night ride alowed on thursdays only you will be more than safe (well from crime but there are some snakes )
  25. I've not read this whole thread but in case no one has ID the snake it is a juvenile molesnake. I caught a similar sized and coloured on in the same area some months back.
