I wouldn't pay that kind of money on any bike in the hope that I can resell it. There is a lot more that I can do with that moola than let it sit in a garage. But if I had a shop, that is another story...

I got a quote on some cheap, no name car tires. But, are they worth it? They are approximately 1k cheaper each than the more well known tires.

My setup did not work in the wet/clay Drakensberg trails.

I run rear 2.4 Aspen and front 2.4 Recon Race. The wheel ID is 30mm. The combo feels fine, but I don't think the Aspen will last very long. I have done around 2000km on the pair.

Shimano, Sram...Go for the best deal you can find. 1x11 is cheaper than 1x12. When I need to replace the parts on my 1x12 groupset, I would probably go for a 1x11. On my previous bike, I had a 1x10, just as good. You can ways play with the gear ratio when replacing the chainring.

I can't really comment on how they compare to other bars, as I don't ride enough to really know how to feel the difference. The carbon bars felt good. But, I tightened the levers and shifters to much, made dents in the bars. And I even used a torque wrench. The 35mm bar also felt more compliant, but I may be wrong. They are lighter than the 31.8 bars.

I have their 35mm and 31.8mm bars, flat, rizer and hi-rize. Still need to try the 35mm sky-rize bar.

Mine is a race machine. 2.4 tyres, front and rear, on 30mm ID rims, 100mm travel Reba and some other cheapish parts. Nothing fancy. Love the Rapide.

My son has an Avalanche Gooze cheap, but does wat it has to and it takes a beating. Unfortunately, no brake.
