  1. So. Does the SS honeymoon ever end? I even had thought of selling my other wife. Er, I mean bike.
  2. First lefty SS I've seen. I like it.
  3. It definitely was over training. I rested a bit, had a few light sessions, and the rode 94.7 in 3:29 on the single speed. I've never felt stronger. So now I'm actively building lighter sessions into my riding as soon as I feel that fatigue coming back.
  4. I can see I'm going to have to buy some 5.10s soon. *sigh*
  5. If you can say no, you're a stronger man than me... http://media1.roseversand.de/product/1850/1/8/1859582_1.jpg
  6. Some interesting views here.... Seem to make sense.... http://www.bikejames.com/strength/flats-vs-clipless-please-prove-me-wrong-why-i-wont-let-it-go/
  7. Marginally off topic, but the one "problem" I remember having the few times I ran with the flats is never quite being sure if my feet were in the "right" position. With so much science behind cleat positioning...... Is it all just bollocks? Is it just a feel thing on flats?
  8. It's because they look so freaking hot!
  9. Haha. I considered selling them, but I actually want to give them a good home on my single speed trail bike.... I just chickened out on the initial build....
  10. To be honest, the only place I think I would miss cleats is on those very short steep rocky climbs where I consciously push-pull-in-as-much-of-a-circle-as-i-can. Is it necessary? Probably not... But it's how I learned to ride this type of obstacle.. I have a set if Saints. Just need the shoes....
  11. I know. Self quoting. Sin. So.... Anyone used these? Wondering if the gap in rubber of the cleat impacts grip at all. In theory, they shouldn't because the pins are around the outsides mostly.. . But any first hand experience comments would be good...
  12. Sometimes you just find a rhythm on the way home, and a chilled "recovery commute" breaks a bunch of pb's. On those days, it all feels like zero effort, all reward.
  13. That's a beauty. That colouring from frame through to fork is just awesome. On a side note, Ardents front and back... Great choice. I find mine stick like glue!
  14. That is awesome.
  15. The Five Ten Hellcat takes a cleat. Amazing! I have to get some.
  16. Ya. The biggest I have is 36:16.... Might put the bigger ring on tonight...
  17. Ratio set to 34:16 for 94.7 on Sunday.
  18. Restaurants are trying to cash in. Unfortunately, a large number of people are "banting" without having done any kind of research. So they don't even know that what they are eating is full of crap. Restaurants that actually cater for proper banting, including using quality ingredients that don't contain crap, are few and far between. They are also generally expensive because these ingredients are more expensive.

  20. The biggest surprise for me was how much water come off the tyres, straight into your mouth.
  21. Love it. Nice to see more SS with a dropper! Awesome long travel! Don't gear her!
  22. And single speeding is supposed to be cheaper! Nice score.
  23. Where did you buy it if I may ask?
  24. I can see why. It's purdy, and silent! Because of noise, I use my aeropress 9 times out of 10 over my Sylvia. But dammit, now I want a lever too!
