  1. That's the only part of the ride that I hate.
  2. Thanks. Yip, that's me. I commute to work on it.
  3. Thanks man. Yip.... I'm tall. It's the biggest frame available besides a custom frame.
  4. Look what I did. Some call me crazy. I think it will make me a better rider. My trail themed SS is finally "finished" complete with dropper, 120mm travel fork, and flats.
  5. Converse tekkies are not meant for riding flats. I got bitten nicely by my saints this morning. Should be ordering my 5.10's today. :-)
  6. Illegal! Please tell me you don't own 2 of them?
  7. And commuters. [emoji12]
  8. This post will probably anger you, and I'm sorry. Dude, this thread is about commuting in general, and things you've learned from commuting. Please could I ask you nicely to refrain from using it as your twitter account? Maybe it's just me.... But there is a lot of over share going down.
  9. Calorie counter by fatsecret. Also has all the SA food in it.

  11. So. Does the SS honeymoon ever end? I even had thought of selling my other wife. Er, I mean bike.
  12. First lefty SS I've seen. I like it.
  13. It definitely was over training. I rested a bit, had a few light sessions, and the rode 94.7 in 3:29 on the single speed. I've never felt stronger. So now I'm actively building lighter sessions into my riding as soon as I feel that fatigue coming back.
  14. I can see I'm going to have to buy some 5.10s soon. *sigh*
  15. If you can say no, you're a stronger man than me... http://media1.roseversand.de/product/1850/1/8/1859582_1.jpg
  16. Some interesting views here.... Seem to make sense.... http://www.bikejames.com/strength/flats-vs-clipless-please-prove-me-wrong-why-i-wont-let-it-go/
  17. Marginally off topic, but the one "problem" I remember having the few times I ran with the flats is never quite being sure if my feet were in the "right" position. With so much science behind cleat positioning...... Is it all just bollocks? Is it just a feel thing on flats?
  18. It's because they look so freaking hot!
  19. Haha. I considered selling them, but I actually want to give them a good home on my single speed trail bike.... I just chickened out on the initial build....
  20. To be honest, the only place I think I would miss cleats is on those very short steep rocky climbs where I consciously push-pull-in-as-much-of-a-circle-as-i-can. Is it necessary? Probably not... But it's how I learned to ride this type of obstacle.. I have a set if Saints. Just need the shoes....
  21. I know. Self quoting. Sin. So.... Anyone used these? Wondering if the gap in rubber of the cleat impacts grip at all. In theory, they shouldn't because the pins are around the outsides mostly.. . But any first hand experience comments would be good...
  22. Sometimes you just find a rhythm on the way home, and a chilled "recovery commute" breaks a bunch of pb's. On those days, it all feels like zero effort, all reward.
  23. That's a beauty. That colouring from frame through to fork is just awesome. On a side note, Ardents front and back... Great choice. I find mine stick like glue!
  24. That is awesome.
  25. The Five Ten Hellcat takes a cleat. Amazing! I have to get some.
