  1. B.O.A.C stood for "Baggage On Another Continent" apparently . . . . ????
  2. We've just started watching "The Blacklist" with James Spader. Season 1 is from 2014 but we've never seen it before! My son recommended it and so far we're enjoying it.
  3. The Original was on telly here in Spain recently. ????
  4. Rough landing for the pilot! But better than staying in the plane, obvs.
  5. Not nice seeing scum like these creeping around your garden in the middle of the night man ???? Where are the bear traps when you need them?
  6. Not sure if this has been asked - I haven't followed this thread. Am I right in thinking that I can no longer see how many people have "viewed" posts? It was always interesting to me to see who noticed when I posted an update ????
  7. Whichever direction you're riding, that's a fast descent down to the bridge followed by a slow climb up the other side on a bike. If I remember correctly, a rider was actually killed close to that bottom bridge after hitting a pothole back around 2014/15?
  8. Remembering the "Jose "Pepe" Perez Memorial Race" held annually in October in Barbastro, a town about 50km south of where we live. Jose was a policeman who was sadly killed on duty. I raced this in 2018 and loved it. Hoping it will be on again this year. The race was well organized and had a great atmosphere.
  9. I like some of those songs, but I'd never have them on my player for a training ride!
  10. At the end of this week "Inter-Provincial Travel" opens up again here in Spain. For a while now IP Travel has been restricted - meaning that although local businesses that wanted to could be (and generally have been) open, their customers have all only come from within their own province. In our case "Aragon". I've been talking to local owners and for a lot of them the off-season has been no different to any other year. Those that normally close, closed as normal. Businesses that are usually open and quite busy over our Winter season have seen less customers due to the restrictions but it has been partly balanced out by people from our own province who would normally go to another province for a week or long weekend winter break and couldn't. They came here instead :-) There's no doubt that numbers are down, but given the circumstances, it's not been as bad for most of the people I interact with as it could have been. The campsite that I sometimes work at decided not to open until IP Travel was allowed - they felt that the numbers of people likely to visit at this time didn't balance with the cost of opening and running the whole site. All the usual prep work we do has still needed doing and for me personally this year has been the same as previous years thankfully. The only difference being that where 2 or 3 of us normally get everything done by Easter for opening, I've been working pretty much on my own over the longer period of time that we've had to get everything done. Let's see how the next few weeks go!
  11. Usually best to start with your own house/school/bus or train.....
  12. Taking a breather on the way to the abandoned village of Muro de Bellos..... (no idea why the picture is posting sideways!)
  13. Yeah, all deceased. :-(
  14. A friend of mine just messaged me to say there was a mid-air collision last night - a flight from Lanseria and a flight from CFA Rand . . . .
  15. Saturdays road ride - stunning backdrops and scenery, as always..... This is in front of the church in Campo after a refreshing cold beer . . . :-)
  16. Did another road ride with "Jose the Priest" and "Fermin the Sculptor" on Saturday afternoon. Boltaña to Campo and back. 70km, with over 1000m of climbing. Worked the legs, caught some sun and Fermin, who sings Opera, sang to us a little on the climbs! A great day out.
  17. Originally I used to ride the Cradle MTB trail starting from the Rhino & Lion park, then as it grew I rode from Something Country. Always loved it.
  18. ha! Not sure why it would follow me.... I assume it could smell my fear! It followed me for as long as it took me to get my wits back and leg it! Please don't talk about snakes and my bedroom in the same sentence..... #nightmare! I think it might know what car I drive - it could hitch a lift underneath and I'd never know. Sweet Mary I may have already bought it home with me!!!
  19. Uncovered this little guy yesterday while raking leaves. He was sleepy and slow, but he started to follow me .....
  20. My boys started off with Thomas the Tank Engine . . . but eventually grew up enough for this!
  21. Airline PAST#5:Early South African Airways Jet Age - YouTube
  22. Did a road ride with "Jose the Priest" and "Fermin the Sculptor" on Saturday afternoon. Beautiful day for it and the views are always worth the climb! Fermin is 76 years old and climbed the first 7km - which rises 500 odd meters - without any problems. If I can ride like that at 76 I'll be a happy man! From FB: A "Colombiano", an "Ingles" and an "Español" riding together on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. At one point Fermin (he's a Sculptor who also sings Opera) and I were singing "El Mondo"..........
  23. Took me a while to find out how to put on the handbrake of the bosses Merc a while ago. Turns out you don't use your hand to do it!
  24. With the Alto-Pyrenees to the North and the Lakes to the south, there are enough big landmarks around here that although you might take a little wrong turn occasionally, no one should ever really get lost....... Zona Zero have taken care of the sign posting and done a great job..... Happy trails . . . . . :-)
