  1. Yep. Was mentioned on here.
  2. I guess if someone had the time and energy to drive some distance behind a cycling friend and "shadow him", you might get lucky at trying to catch a thief or two, but realistically, what's going to happen? If you see, for instance, two guys starting to attack your friend up ahead, you scream up in the car, get out (presumably you'd want to be armed otherwise you're just going to lose the car too) and you point a gun at them. They split and then what? You shoot them as they run away? From what I've heard, that's not going to do you any favours in court. Or they have guns and shoot at you? (possibly unlikely, I don't know how often these guys actually have loaded guns?) or they aren't armed and they don't run, so you cover them with your gun and call the police. How long before the police arrive to take them away? How many hours before they are out again but now they know what you are up too? It might be tempting to want to beat the thief to the point where he never considers robbing anyone ever again, but I don't see the law being on your side either. So what is the answer? No more riding? Turbo trainer in your garage behind an electric fence? Even guys riding in groups have been attacked, as we've seen on here. Sad days man.
  3. Enjoying life . . . . Yesterdays ride on Zona Zero Route ZZ-07. Clear skies & warm weather - perfect.
  4. My friend Pedro Montaner, who lives here in Ainsa and is a fellow MTB'er & professional photographer, recently took this picture of the village of Guaso where our Project is. He's always taking and posting amazing pictures and it's shots like this one of Guaso that remind us of everything we love about living in this area and keeps us going towards our goal of building and running our little B&B. 🙂
  5. What were the chances of someone filming that piece of sky at the time? Or did something happen that made them look up and start videoing? I'm never that quick with my phone!
  6. This is my second Fav: Only took one listen for it to get right in my head! Edit: The band were never all in the same room at the same time making this vid. They were in the UK, USA, New Zealand and Australia individually during lockdown. See the "making of" vid for how.
  7. This is one of my two current favs: Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under. He's a Geordie - so the accent is maybe a bit hard to follow, but for me it makes the song 🙂
  8. Where the hell is "Gqeberha"??
  9. The AN-225 will live on . . . .
  10. I'm back in Spain for a fortnight and being spoiled by "Wendy" who was really happy with something I bought back from the UK for her . . . .
  11. Yesterday we had a cold rain down where we live in Boltaña. Today as the cloud cleared we could see that snow had fallen on the Peña Monteñesa again, as is customary in March! Always a beautiful sight 🙂
  12. Like so often happens in life, people are their own worst enemies!
  13. So pics of the destroyed plane on FB. 😞
  14. I saw this baby come into Farnborough Airshow many years ago. It was, obviously, ******* massive! When it displayed, the deal I believe was that the owners would supply the plane if the Airshow would pay for the fuel! I'm sure that was quite a bill. It took off and immediately banked hard right (due to the shape of the "airspace" over Farnborough), so slowly and so steeply that I honestly couldn't believe it would stay airbourne..... 15. I'm reading on-line (CNN) that it was destroyed.
  16. There are some nice videos on line of planes coming into Heathrow during storm Eunice
  17. I guess I'm a hairy legged mountain biker at heart - which is understandable since we live in the heart of "Zona Zero" country.... But then the roads here are so well maintained and so quiet that it would be a crime not to go out on a nice long training ride at least once a week ! 🙂
  18. We've been fortunate over the last 3 months - time with family in the States before Christmas, time with family in the UK over New Year and now after a fortnight at home in Spain I'm back in the UK helping my son with some work. The last couple of years have been hard for a lot of people and it's been interesting listening to the different (but similar) stories on both sides of the Atlantic. Now, working amongst people here in the UK, I can see that they are just tired of it all. Almost no one on site is wearing a mask (or "face covering" as they refer to it here), in the shops maybe a third of people are - despite signs urging everyone to do so. Quite a contrast to Spain where masks are still compulsory when entering any shop. And talking of shops, I popped in to the "Best Biltong" South African shop in Guildford last week and had a nice catch up chat with the owner..... Happy days 🙂
  19. Shame. I don't "like" snakes, but I don't wish them any harm.
  20. We're now back in Spain after 2 weeks in the UK. You don't generally go to the UK in January "for the weather" that's for sure, but we did have an amazing time visiting family & friends 🙂 While I was there I gave my son a copy of some footage that I recorded after he'd left his Drone with me at the end of his visit back in October. I shot most of it before I went over to meet "Wendy" at her daughters over in the States back in December. There are some hubbers on here who have visited us here in Spain - you'll recognise the area 🙂
  21. We flew Barcelona-London Gatwick last night on a Vueling A320. Nice flight, only 2 hrs, and there were no more than 40 people on the plane. We had three seats each 🙂
  22. I posted a few weeks ago about my 10 hr flight to Denver, Colorado from Munich on a Lufthansa A350-900 - great flight, no complaints and Munich airport was beautiful and spotless. "Wendy" and I came back to Spain via Frankfurt together last week (she was there an extra 3 weeks before I got there) and we came back on a Lufthansa A340-300. From the outside it was a nice looking plane - latest Lufthansa colours, shiny & white. Inside, the plane was perfectly clean and tidy but goodness me what a miserable flight! The seats were the most uncomfortable I've ever had to travel long-haul in, narrow and as stripped-down as you could make a seat and expect someone to still sit in it! In fact I commented on the second leg of our journey - 2hrs Frankfurt-Barcelona - that the seats on that little A320 were not much narrower. On top of the general discomfort of the seats, the aircon was set to the "Ice-Age" setting. After the flight, Frankfurt airport was awful. So dirty and scruffy I thought we'd landed at Heathrow by accident 🙂
  23. We have our odd cold days in Spain for sure, but Nederland, Colorado wipes the floor with us!
