  1. There wont only be many happy cyclist around, but also so many ecstatic triathletes.
  2. Aah ok... that I can believe
  3. Mmmmm... Colour me skeptical... https://youtu.be/ZwSwZ2Y0Ops http://www.iflscience.com/physics/heres-lexus-hoverboard-finally-action
  4. Ja, I must say I have always leant (and probably always will) towards full sus, but after seeing the Monkey in the flesh (and the 631 video), it seems like they could be seriously fun on the trails.
  5. Hahaha ja! Was actually mentioning yesterday how the track walk would need the use of climbing gear for that section..
  6. Was wondering where I would find somewhere in Durbs to watch this.. Down for IM this weekend.
  7. I also run left front, right back... When I started it was the other way around because I wanted it the same motorbikes... But since have change back to left front, right back as other bikes I hop on and test are usually that way, and so is my road bike.. So just keeping things simple..
  8. If we do need to get technical... You can see be the line of the front brake hose that it is leading to the left side of the handlebars, i.e. the right is rear and not pulled.
  9. Yeah, that could work…. My current 1st and 2nd gear has ratios of 0.67 and 0.75 respectively, the above would work out at 0.71, so smack bam in the middle of them and that should be doable...
  10. Seriously though… It's a concern that has crossed my mind in the past as well. I tried riding a few of my local trails in the gear ratio that a 1x setup would be and the fitness/strength wasn't an issue for me, it was my dodgy knee that started giving in. When my trusty steed finally gets replaced by a nice trail bike, it would at least need a 2x with a nice big gear at the back.

  12. Cool idea… but unless there is someone guarding it, it will go walkies very quickly, and then that 'guard' may as well film you... Suppose for quick shots on a trail it should be ok though…
  13. Got 29" Flows on Novatec hubs, at 90kg and not the smoothest rider, they take a pounding and still true and happy..
  14. That probably could've been phrased better.. But then again, I was putting my foot in it the whole day yesterday, so just keeping up with the trend.
  15. I wasn't gone say it…. And cleats have their place..
  16. We try … was really cool meeting all and having a lekka ride... Did you come right at the shed?

Unfortunately don't know anyone in JHB, but try find someone who specializes in mandala's for that type of line work.. If you get stuck, chat to Kaptain Cade from http://www.sinsofstyle.com in CPT, should be able to point you in the right direction. Also a lot of the artist from Sins of Style travel around SA doing stints in different areas..
  18. From Facebook:Nicola Van Der Weele‎Tygerberg Mountain Bike club2 hrs · From Rudi Keet- Please take note I cycled alone this morning from Durbanville (Wellington road) to loop through Spes Bona and back on Adderley road. Around 5h30 and about 50 meters before the Spes Bona road turn off a guy attacked me with a brick. The attack was without warning or any demands for money or valuables. He waited until I was right next to him before he launched a brick at me and immediately he continued to throw a second and third stone whilst I was speeding away. I don’t know if he was alone, but luckily I was able to stay on the bike and got away with only bruised ribs whilst his 2nd and 3rd attempt missed me. Please be warned never to ride alone in the dark and specifically around that area. It happens quickly, without warning and it could’ve been a lot worse.
  19. Yoh… LIKE!!
  20. A couple of us rode there a few weeks back and there were many riders about, so don't see why not..
  21. Humbled! Respect...
  22. This is true hey.. wonder if he is still up there… or were we that slow...
