  1. Its 947 time. Everyone is dusting their bikes off for last minute dot com training! Lekker!
  2. I use both, Bars at the start of my ride with gels as an emergency back up or for the final 15/20km of a race or event. I know of some lunatics that ride on a high carb juice mix and a banana It all boils down to personal preference. Ive heard some horror stories of people sh*ting their chamois while only eating gels
  3. Those are long gone now, Look after yours, spares are very hard to come by.
  4. Go crank based, steer very, very far away from pedal based PMs on a MTB.
  5. Loved my Burgtec grips to bits! Waiting for my Lyne Cactus grips to arrive. Heard great reviews on them.
  6. This happens when you have Koeberg 1 and 2 for legs
  7. Has anyone reached out to the companies that are "Sponsoring" prizes? Maybe they are unaware their names are being used.
  8. The widest the rear of your frame can take, plus some mud clearance. For those on Non-Boost bikes its normally a 2.25, max 2.35. Boost bike you can squeeze a bit more meat in there. Pick a size, be it 2.25 or 2.35 and run that front and rear. You dont need to run a staggered setup anymore.
  9. Really love my Maxxis Rekon Race 2.35s, very predictable sidewall grip
  10. Lantern Rouge podcast comment section had some interesting insight into the route. Mainly that the claimed 6% grades on the lap around the city are closer to 10 and 15% grade for 15-30 seconds. Repeat over all of those laps and me thinks this is going to be an open playing field for all
  11. Im all for people getting out in the fresh air, stoked to see how busy they became after rona, with hundreds of people rocking up to hike/walk now. But as you say, putting everyone on the same route, especially when you go past the dam on the way out to yellow is just dangerous. Doesnt quite make sense. But hey, they must be making enough money from the hikers to not even notice the declining numbers of cyclists there. More business for the likes of Asidlale who arent scared to offer challenging riding.
  12. Not a fan of the new guys looking after those trails, they have made some really odd decisions. Like sweeping all the little pebbles from the trail into the bottom of the berms on Super Tube. its a recipe for disaster. Quite sad, we have been riding there for over a decade now. Shocking to say, id rather ride at Northern Farms. Lol
  13. Yep, had the clear set on my Cotic before I sold it. Held up really well. Just need to ensure the frame is properly clean and free from any oils. a little heat near the edges kept them from lifting
  14. https://13industries.co.za/products/ams-frame-guard-2 this stuff is great, comes in lots of designs and colors or clear if you wish.
  15. being exposed to lots of UV over time. causes them to perish. @Croglet are these 26" tires or 29er?
  16. All the cracking on that spot looks like the tire is rotten, wonder if it sat in the store under direct sunlight for some time before you purchased it,
  17. Oh, CSA is still around. Thought they went bang around the time the Post Office did
  18. Veldskoen with Cleats? Can hear the heavy breathing of many Free State farmers
  19. All depends what your main intended use is, We have landed the Muc-Off Pressure Washers recently, these have a much lower pressure than a domestic Pressure Washer at around 70 Bar as opposed to most that push between 100 to 130 Bar. Much safer for your suspension and linkage seals. Comes with a snow foam lance and specific ones for your Bike or Motorbike. https://evobikes.co.za/product/muc-off-pressure-washer-large-box-bike-eu-incl-fluid/
  20. Back in the day we just used the plastic header card from a Maxxis Tyre as a butt saver😂
  21. Sheesh, you ous never been around the Cradle or something?
  22. Spray onto a microfibre cloth, never directly onto the frame/fork/wheels. Biggest mistake most guys make.
  23. Muc-Off Bike Protect gets my Tan sidewalls clean and shining again. Doesnt attract as much dust as the likes of a standard Silicone Shine
  24. Those look like Mavic Cosmic wheels If they are, that carbon piece is nothing but an Aero slip over an Aksium Rim. So nothing structural with that Carbon part. I agree with @lechatnoir on the ding on the rim. That is a bit of a concern.
