  2. 32x16 Sid fork Truvativ stylo crank DMR ss kit XTR wheels XT brakes Ritchey PRO everything else Will get some detailed shots when the sun comes out again. Hope to ride this at the table mountain 100
  3. This rack is so illegal without lights or bolted on number plate holders. Surely this can be sorted out easily?
  4. Get a good bag for your clothes etc. Do you need to carry a laptop? Find commuting buddies as it makes getting out of bed easier. Make yourself an ICE ID tag with name, a contact number and medical aid details and hang it where it can be found. (or get a genuine ICE tag) Spares spares spares. You may never need them but rather have them. Always help out a fellow commuter as the favor WILL be returned in some way. Get a bell Greet everybody along the way
  5. They not the MK type of grip. More suited as a back tire unless you got skills and can also run X-marks or SB8 up front. Aslo volume isnt the best for a 2.2, seguaros are chunkier.
  6. Whats pink and next to the Labia? Mount Nelson! Going tonight. If the food is crap there is food/s in Kloof street.
  7. Can i throw a spanner in the works and suggest this one? http://feedbacksports.com/shop/Sport-Mechanic-Work-Stand-P3C1.aspx
  8. Yes the sticky outy bit. i am trying to sand down the frame but these lttle protrusions are in my way. I dont use water bottles but I am sure I can replace them afterwards. http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/water-bottle-fittings
  9. Yebo, but obviously not the hole but rather the screwy part. Will take a pic and send.
  10. How do you remove the bottle cage holes from a frame?
  11. After the polish, did you do anthing else to the frame? I am worried that it will go dull again, but its a MTB. I can get a clear coat (I bought a rattle can) done by a panel beater. I am going to Midas now, what "rubbing compound must i ask for?
  12. I used ELARA stripper (works well but cant compare) to remove the clear coat and decals. Basically down to bare metal. This took about three goes as some spots are harder than others or I might have applied it unevenly. Used a plastic scraper for the final removal of paint. I then used a rough sand paper to clean up the bad scratches, then a 600, and finally a 1200 grit sand paper. I got everything from brights hardware and 1200 is the finest sand paper they have. How do i make this puppy shine?
  13. No. Sometimes they are over zealous with the oil in a service. Its minimal but if it gets on your rotors you are stuffed. (well you will need to clean thouroughly and replace brake pads is they get contaminated)
  14. Then there is too much air in the negative chamber.
  15. Remove all the air. My sid was missing 10% travel after my service due to to much pressure. Beware that you must turn fork upside down to remove neg air as there is lots of oil that will come out (both chambers)
  16. in weight, yes. in smoothness and comfort, YES I am sure you can put a 140 fork on there. EISH that shock is worth more than your bike lok at rock shox, they have something called U-Turn which makes it adjustable. Should be able to get one cheaper.
  17. Fork first. Get a 120+ mm travel air fork. Then look at wheels, then cranks depending on budget Send a pic of actual bike. Is the seat not too far forward?
  18. Good idea. You got a FS frame for me. Its a medium.
  19. Hi all, I am sturggling to change the bearing on a Raleigh RDS MTB. The one side takes an allen key and the other just has a hole. I turn both sides and nothing happens. Is there a trick as I need to change these bearings?
  20. Nobody

    Cables?

Full length is the main criteria. Make sure there is enough hose for both derailleurs or at least make sure you got enough for the rear to be fully closed.
  21. R75 if you lucky. The usual response is "We dont have any XT but do have XTR spokes for R120" and then they have to order them. Not sure if there is a difference in spokes but have only been able to replace with XTR. Advantages: Totally tubeless, easy to get a tire inflated. Bulletproof according to some people (I broke 3 spokes so they went to a gentler riders bike) Disadvantage: Expensive to fix.
  22. The email doesn't work. It keeps bouncing. Does on size fit all? Can I wear 2 at the same time?
  23. Thanks for the responses. I have decided to rather put the Nevegals on the spank rims (Nevegal front and x-king at the back)as this will give a beefier tire due to the rim width. I have run tubeless on them before so will take it easy the first few rides to ensure the tire seats well enough and doesn't come off. On the XTR I will run the WTB weirwolf front and crossmark\seguaro at the rear.
  24. Oh come on. This is just ridiculous. He gets found with stolen goods in his possession repeatedly and nothing comes of it. He is causing the crime wave of bikes being stolen.
