  1. Lots of life left on that bad boy
  2. Yes, I would look at replacing it within the next 300-500km depending on how quickly it wears and or how many km's it currently has on it
  3. I am based in Gauteng but I will be willing to contribute to keep my fellow cyclist safe in the mother city
  4. Is that what I got two rolls of the other day? Was wondering what this strange color tape was 😜
  5. I know this may be a dumb statement but I am going to say it in any way: you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar 😁. At the end of the day you're dealing with a human on the other end and by working with him / her you'll be able to get the issue resolved but by trying to take them on you may end up causing yourself more ball-ache and frustration. Just my 2 cents 😜.
  6. #indoor trainer 😜
  7. Saw that, sorry about that, removed mine
  8. Duplicate post, please ignore me
  9. I've done this before as well, I actually still have half the roll left 😁
  10. Haaaaaa, now I understand why this yellow tape is more plastic and rigid versus the duct / gorilla tape. Makes sense now. That may also explain why the seeding is better on the yellow stuff coz it flexes less. But ok, don't take my word as gospel here, I am merely speculating 😁
  11. Mine is 66m in length. It is a monster roll. Even these are cheaper, I mean if you buy 3 of these you'll be sitting on 70m for still lower than what charge: https://solomonscycles.co.za/products/ryder-tubeless-rim-tape/
  12. That tape is very expensive compared to the exact same roll at a bike shop for R299. But ya, any tape does the job. I have also used Gorilla and duct tape before. The advantage of the yellow stuff is that the tire tend to seed easier.
  13. Mine says: GD43 but then again mine is not locktite mine is Lock Devil. So what @David Marshallsaid, I have also noticed something, let's call it: Fun Fact Has anyone looked at just how much of that blue stuff is in a bottle? It is basically empty the moment you break the seal 😁. This is on both Locktite and Lock Devil
  14. Please make contact with me so that I can help you to get the Momsen sorted without costing you another R2500. Then, granted, you do get a guarantee on a new bike but the headache which goes along with getting the manufacturer to honor that if anything does happen to your bike mechanically is another story all together. But, this is a happy moment, not a post about opinions. You got the bike of your dreams (even if it has the tan tires - which I can also swop for you, again for way less than the R1500 you mentioned). Congrats on the bike and I hope you are going to have a gazillion miles on it 👍
  15. I initially thought the wheel came off whilst riding 😜
  16. Hi there, I do yes, I have a few. Maybe 3 or 4.
  17. I have about 50 FD's and shifters here with me, I absolutely hate a FD, that's the first thing to go when I do a build 😁. What type is it? You get quite a few options. I can send it via Postnet.
  18. Is the RD-M770 a 10 speed? I have RD-M750 (9 speed) & RD-M785 (10 speed) here with me. and then some Deore, SLX & XTR 😁
  19. Yes, you will be able to get a decent bike for that price, I build bikes in my spare time and have built many bikes for way less than that.
  20. Hey Allan, I do have a few questions for the sake of this thread I will only answer your questions: 1) not all of the second hand bikes are rubbish, there are really solid deals out there. You must just know what to look for. 2) Titan is a good option they are well specced and they do not cost an arm and a leg. 3) I always tell people when they ask about building vs buying: if you build you need to have a budget and stick to it, it is very easy to get carried away and sucked into the "one step better" wormhole when sourcing the parts. Feel free to contact me if you need any guidance or advice 👍
  21. Maxxis is known for this. Every single maxiss I have owned over the years has done that. Some to a lesser extent but they all loose shape. I don't even look at Maxxis any more
  22. I will give you an XT front derailleur to match the rear. Solid bike IMO and the guys / seller will be open to negotiate.
  23. I now see that you'll be ok with either 9 or 10 speed. I am 100% sure that I will be able to help.
  24. You know that the point of a ss is to not be able to play with the limits 😉.
  25. What makes it look suspicious? I also have no clue what it's really worth but I am just asking 😁
