  1. I use Ergon's, have been for about 4-5 years now. The fixing bolt is just rubbish 😁
  2. This piece of advice should come with a warning like: do not try this at home or something. Have you tried putting insulation tape or gorilla tape upside down on your bar? So let me explain. You start the tape with the sticky side facing the bar so that it can create a fixing point and then midway through the wrapping process you turn the roll around so that the stickiness now faces the other direction. Then apply a spray or two of water on the inside of the grip and prepare for war to get them on the bar 😁
  3. 2 pot and 4 pot uses the same bracket but you can always add a few spacers to get the rotor to run freely inside the caliper and not catch the top. But ya, it will either be a 140mm or 160mm rotor at the back which comes standard. However, that does not bother me, what catches my eye is the XXL 😃
  4. Broomstick inside the seat post
  5. ST17 Elegant hoops with 105 hubs | Bike Hub - my suggestion for peace of mind - get yourself a spare set of wheels (yes it is my own add I am punting) and then get your set repaired by someone who knows a thing or two about building and repairing 😁. That's just my 2 cents
  6. I have no clue where that little bearing belongs but what I am certain of is that you need a new bike as yours is falling apart 😁
  7. I sold my wheel cutting tool late last year 😁. I never used it.
  8. There's no hope, the chain is wrecked, you need to box it up nicely and send it to Postnet Woodhill under my name 😜. Just kidding. Add one link back, it will be ok.
  9. I had a guy try to scam me, he sent the proof of payment and everything, the only problem he had with his scam was that he wanted me to deliver it 🤣. So I said sure thing, I'll pop through the moment the money shows in my account. I never heard back from him, shame he paid for a bike and I never delivered, cruel cruel world I tell you 😂
  10. I am faced with a bit of a conundrum, I currently have a "new old stock" Giant XTC frame think it is a 2014 or so (size M for those keen to buy it once I am done 😁). Anyhow, sales pitch done, this frame has never been built and currently does not have a scratch or major defect on it. Now my thinking: wrap it and use it to increase the life of the paint job but, will this add value or will it just be a nice to have? I won't be looking to use this as a sales pitch or a value add, I am merely thinking that if I gave it more thought when I built my bike 3 years ago it may have been a nice touch. Then my next question: do I just use stuff like the 3M tape or would you go to a wrapping company?
  11. I have some of that, do you know what ratio you want to run?
  12. OK, I will bite, when you say conversion do you mean the whole kit as in: Tensioner Spacers Cog Single speed or BMX chain Or are you just looking for one of the above mentioned?
  13. I will answer your questions with a question: do you have a health problem in the form of a bad back or herniation of any kind? If the answer is no then you do not need a dual. I enjoyed my HT but unfortunately I have back issues 😔.
  14. Cool, I will take it off your hands 👍.
  15. Is it a whole frame? I will be keen to take it off your hands
  16. Good idea, I love mine and it's not worth getting rid of it as you already know what you have 👍😁
  17. That's a 2011 Trek - I have the red one. It was new R4999.00 at Cycle Lab when I bought mine. That 160mm fork is not really meant for the frame and it currently has cable brakes. My guess is between R1500 - R2000 as is but if you strip it down you may get more. But you'll end up with some parts which you wont be able to sell. You may be able to get R1200 for the fork and hub on the front wheel alone. Then the frame will fetch around R600.
  18. I found a grip shift in my box of tricks if you want it. I have both sides
  19. I've sold two M dual sus bikes for under R20k in the last few months. What you're currently doing is the right approach. If a bike holds up to the scrutiny of the hub police then you'll be in good shape. I will gladly assist in getting you sorted, send me a pm, I will help where I can
  20. Shoooowie, fortunately it was E-bike parts, we can all rest easy 🤣
  21. You won't be able to get just a clamp if I understand your requirement correctly. You will need to replace the FD. But ya, send me a pm and I will be able to assist. O and PS: I would not go back to a 2x config. I would go with a 46 or 50T at the back with a 34T in the front if you stay somewhere in Gauteng and or somewhere flat and stick with the 32T if somewhere hilly 👍
  22. That's a great deal, can I have two
  23. I also sold a cracked wheel the one time, I also did not know it was cracked but after the buyer informed me I just paid for a new hoop. Fortunately he was a wheel builder 😁
  24. I bought a cracked frame before
