Did you insure the parcel? Whenever i use the P.O, i always take out insurance. You pay a little more, but at least you are covered.

What a ride yesterday, expect for polehole country part. I registered 105km at the finishline.

I have a old pair of cycling shorts, shirts and cycling shoes for him. I think i might even have some old cycling parts which i no longer use. I would like to donate this to him. I will watch this post for further updates.

Believe it or not, but I am one of those cyclists that actually forgets to eat or drink while riding. On the 94.7, I only had 2 small sips throughout the race. During the club rides, I take an energy drink and energy bars, most of the time I come back them with untouched. The guys that I ride with always ask me for bars and a drink. Sometimes I think that maybe I should risk racing with just 1 bottle and no energy bars. Weight saving, but I have not found the courage to do so in a race.

Why do cyclists shop at Cajees, I personally don?t understand. They (Cajees) have no clue about bicycle parts and they have a bunch of sales people that don?t know the first about a bicycle. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> You just need to look at the manager/personnel, and I bet none of them even know how to ride a bike. There prices are also ridiculous, once you negotiate it is more reasonable. Still they try to rip off the people that don?t ask for a discount or shop around. They are only money chasers. I once took my bike there for a service, just before the 94.7 (silly me for leaving it late), and it went back 3 times before it was sorted. The third time I was there checking the "so called" mechanic's working on my bike, eating at the same time. I was disgusted, with the filth that they work in. I said to myself never to go there, unless I am desperate and all the LBS stores are closed.

I was reading the Edenvale/Bedford newspaper lastnight, and the route that they mention is different to the one advertised on the hub.

Team Edenglen, rides from the Karaglen Virgin Active Gym at 4:45 on weekdays (Tues - Friday). The distance that we ride is approx 40 km. Weekends we start our ride at 6:00. We ride a similar route to the one that Iron mentioned above.

Why dont you contact Polar SA. (011) 805-1028. Maybe they can give you telephonic support. Another thing I just thought of, try to reset your Polar. Maybe that will help.

This will be my 9th one, looking forward to it.

Road safety should be top of the list. Jumping a traffic light is silly for whatever reason. We all ride to keep fit and most importantly to have fun. If cars, taxis, motorbikes skip robots is not an excuse for us to do so. There are way to many cyclists who get taken out by motorized transportation. If we can be a little more cautious, I am sure that we will start to earn respect on the roads. For club marshalls and club captains it should be your responsibility to ensure that all cyclists obey the road rules.
