  1. I can get in, and the app has finally decided to show the points for last night's workout. My wife's is still not showing her workout from last night, and hers normally shows within minutes of syncing the device. The app/system seems to have taken a arrow to the knee since the new random reward thing launched.

Already have one, just a tad larger - got a 480GB for a good price from Kalahari.com, a few months before they merged or whatever with Takealot. I definitely need to upgrade... everything but the GFX, which is still good. RAM is still DDR3, CPU is a few generations old, and the PCI Express slot is a generation behind the Radeon R390. But for now, with the weird sluggishness fixed, I'll wait a bit and do it properly when budget allows.

A clean Windows 10 installation later, and Wolfenstein: The new Order runs great (compared to somewhere between nearly unplayable and don't-bother, previously). Going to keep installed programs to a minimum until I've finished everything with this game engine (so, Rage and Wolfenstein: Old Blood, possibly the new Doom) Interested to see if Fallout 4 is also better now. PC upgrade delayed

Got it. I hope the download isn't too big. Not that I'll get to play it anytime soon anyway - I want to do a clean installation of Windows 10, see if that fixes the sluggishness, and I have to work up the guts to install the watercooler.
  5. Hmm, no, we were in AL. But it sounds like there were lots of falls, in different places and bunches. Some lovely photos of scars and neck braces on the one WhatsApp group. Did you see if the rider who fell on the N1 had a dark shirt with blue writing on? The guy who caused the crash I went down in is also a Bloem rider, I find it odd that he misjudged the bridge so badly given how frequently it is used in training and races. The township stretch did seem better, though possibly we weren't going as fast as last year due to the headwind. Now for a few less hectic weekends!
  6. So, anyone else here ride the race this weekend? And, anyone else involved in the crash(es) at the bridge near Glen? I fell right at the start of the bridge, thanks to someone on the left-hand side locking his rear brake and smashing into the hay bales side-on. Somehow managed to land on my feet and right hand, and just kept running a few steps to avoid the rest of the carnage. So, zero damage to myself, and some relatively minor damage (will let the LBS make sure) to my ergos and rear derailleur and/or hanger. I know of at least one person with a broken collarbone, so I count myself VERY lucky.

Worth a try. Will have to do some research on cooling, that could work if I upgrade to say Ryzen. No use spending money twice. Another issue I need to look at is some slowdown I'm experiencing in Windows - for example, Borderlands 2 runs slower under Windows than Ubuntu. Considering a clean install now that the new big update is out for W10.

GPU: Radeon R9 390 8GB. Good enough for most games. CPU: AMD 3850 quad-core, circa 2011/2012. FM1 socket. Screwed I am. RAM: 8gb. Except it is DDR3... Hopefully I can upgrade CPU, MB and RAM around mid next year. I want to go mini-ITX if I can.

Jup... I was getting excited for Wolfenstein 2, until I saw the minimum requirements. Not gonna happen. Graphics card is ok, but CPU is way out of date. Which means new motherboard and RAM too. Not this year
  10. I wonder what the effect will be on the Move To Give initiative - between your own goals and team rewards (and Vitality Drive, if you have that), it was quite easy to give a few to that. With the new system it definitely looks like there will be less to give away.
  11. Sjoe, if people are moaning about actually getting something, I should go nuts with the complaining and emoji's... I missed my goal last week, and thus my streak, by 50 points because the Tomtom service was down on Friday evening and missed the last few steps. Oh well.
  12. Mine doesn't show, but perhaps it is due to it being a Vitalitydrive one. I'll check again when I use a normal VAR one. The device booster will be great, to get my wife a HR watch that doesn't dwarf her wrist (currently a Garmin 225). I'm happy with my Tomtom for Vitality purposes.
  13. The PHP error? If so, then yes.
  14. Just selected one of my rewards as a test, and now I can't find it either. No cards are listed under Rewards cards on the Digital Cards page, and navigating there via the notification only shows a message that the card could not be downloaded currently.
  15. These monthly goals are simply hitting your weekly 900/1200 points, right? Or am I failing at reading?
  16. I've already entered... Personally I'm not that worried, as A/B bunches will be through that part fast enough to not even worry. However, if I was looking at 4+ hours, I'd be very concerned. It is a few km stretch where a lot can go wrong, even with full road closure. I have not seen any mention yet of an MTB event this year, come to think of it. Guess I have to update the route on Strava again. Again.

I think it will be quite some time before I will get a Switch. I would actually like to upgrade my PC next (CPU, MB, RAM), as despite a fairly decent graphics card Fallout 4 runs poorly. Unfortunately I've got two overseas trips coming up, and I keep spending money on other crap as well - I happened to spot Tralyx photochromic lenses on special today on Takealot - so any new consoles or PC upgrades will have to wait. I think there is something wonky with my Windows install though - Borderlands Pre-sequel feels faster under Ubuntu than Borderlands 2 did under Windows.
  18. Driving down from Bloem, I'm also concerned about the possibility of a repeat of the event getting shortened or cancelled. But perhaps we should rather make a Hub-Emergency-Plan, or plans. Should things go wrong, where can we go to ride? Franschoek, Stellenbosch.... I don't know?

Only got my hands on a (secondhand) Wii U this week, a Switch is not going to happen any time soon.
  20. And done, third time lucky. Looks like either ABSA or VCS's systems are taking some strain....
  21. If I may ask, what speed and ISP did you go with? I'm planning on getting FTTH as well, but still weighing up the many options.
  22. At that price, wouldn't the one available from Telkom somewhere this month make more sense? Roughly the same specs, but going to cost R1099 - link.

Nope, I backed it on Kickstarter, and since then life has gotten in the way. I really have to catch up with the status of it
  24. We drive down, and our accommodation is very very cheap (tent in a caravan park). Even so, the entry fee is only a relatively small part of our weekend spend. I do think I should make a list of expenses this year though - would be quite interesting, as Jase mentioned.
  25. Aaaah, ok, THAT direction... <Goes to look at Google Maps> Thanks!
