  1. The number of routes with AR fully integrated is limited currently. I think there are 14, of which only 5 are not just one big climb. On the one I tried, the 3D stuff is pretty neat, though the animation of the avatars was a bit rough (especially when they get out of the saddle). I'd like to see a race on one of the AR routes, with enough participants to really show what it would be like. If I'm just riding a route on my own, I don't think the AR would make a big difference in my life to be honest. On other routes, the interface did change a bit, and if someone else should be riding the same route as you, you'll be shown how far they are ahead/behind you.
  2. Oh nuts.... just got mine. &, starting at 6h23. Excuse me, I need to go subscribe to the hardest two-week training plan I can find, ASAP.
  3. Well this is interesting: Huawei partners with Discovery Vitality
  4. World switching is now available on Android as well, PLUS it also fixes the black screen issue many phones and tablets were getting. This is turning out to be a good week for updates - now if the next update for the companion app can add landscape mode, it would be brilliant.
  5. Yeah, I got caught in the Tour de Zwift trap. Two stages left, then I don't think I'll take on anything so long term again, unless it is a training plan during winter. I skipped a quite a few outdoor rides to take part in, or recover from, these stages, and for some virtual clothing...
  6. It isn't available yet on Android beta either, so I guess the mobile versions are a bit behind. Hopefully soon, and hopefully it also fixes some of the many other issues as well.
  7. Saw it as well this morning. Deliberately chose London just because I could, only around 70 people on it at the time. Though to be honest, I'd probably use Watopia the most, going forward, unless it is a group ride or race somewhere else.
  8. Lucky Tess! This is the state of our pool, with the recently acquired pool cover still needing a final trim (waiting for the predicted rain next week before I do any more cutting). The water BARELY covers the second step. We are babysitting the two schnauzers and the Airedale in the background.
  9. It used to bother me a little, but I figure it is aimed more to just get people moving at all, than someone who willingly rides 3+ hours twice a weekend. Now though, I am thankful for this - due to deadlines at work, I'm quite happy with some easy Park Run points. Guess I'm getting old.
  10. You were quite lucky. I haven't ridden the Reddersburg road, but Jagerfontein rd is in a similar direction, and I don't think I've EVER had the wind behind me on the way back.
  11. For anyone using Vitality Drive, that might be having trouble getting the sensor to connect or stay connected to your phone, check if this doesn't help: https://dontkillmyapp.com/ Specifically for Nokia, the battery "optimizing" tool they include on the phones completely ignores whitelisting of apps that you might need to run in the background, such as the Insure app (or sports trackers, etc.). Since removing this tool from my phone on Friday, getting the sensor to connect to my phone now doesn't involve disabling and enabling bluetooth, tapping the sensor and a prayer anymore. (Also, my Lezyne GPS stayed connected for over 7 hours on Saturday's ride, compared to previously being killed within minutes of starting a ride)
  12. I've only done one ride on an AR route, and it is pretty neat. Not perfect, sure, but has lots of potential. I hope they add a way to see how many people are currently on a specific route (I think the new tacx app shows the number), so you can pick a route with other real riders. So far it has been mostly events posted on the Rouvy group on Strava, to join a specific route at a specific time? The racing with AR opponents should also be interesting, once it is available (saw a Facebook post yesterday, if I remember correctly, stating that if was delayed a bit - EDIT: now I can't find that post... )
  13. Yep, although I have not been stuck in loops myself, I have seen some glitches. Unfortunately currently Zwift (at least on the Android beta) doesn't give resistance changes with my new CycleOps H2, in sim or ERG mode; cadence and power READ fine though. I've ridden like this a few times, just to complete some challenges, but for now I'm sticking to Rouvy, which works perfectly on the same tablet. This is on my older tablet though - a Teclast T8. My new tablet, a Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 (much better specs), shows only pitch black (or, on New York, blood red - still annoying, but at least you can see something). The UI elements show just fine though.

I've given up on HL3 - no amount of magical fairy dust will ever be able to live up to the expectations after so long. (Don't get me wrong, I really really really want HL3... just don't want the same disappointment as Duke Nukem Forever)

This brings back good memories, plus it looks amazing in its own right:
  16. I let my wife pick this morning. She second-guessed herself, and got a 25. Her first choice would have been a diamond. I don't think I'm destined to get one.
  17. Have you tried the Finish Line sealant? It sounded promising when announced, supposed to never dry out, etc. https://www.evobikes.co.za/components/finish-line-tyre-sealant-1l.html Edit: Nevermind, just read a review, sounds like it doesn't dry out, but doesn't seal wonderfully either.
  18. New tubeless road tires from Continetal: https://bikerumor.com/2018/11/07/continental-gp-5000-tl-goes-tubeless-finally-new-modern-benchmark-road-tire/
  19. I've had no luck pairing devices via the companion app on my phone, might be a limitation with the current Android beta version of Zwift on the tablet though. But, I don't really need it to be able to ride - the trainer and HR strap picks up fine on the tablet. I have not used Zwift on the PC. Perhaps if I have a separate room just for training some day; but I am not carrying my PC to the lounge every time I want to ride
  20. I am, though I have not ridden on Zwift since the latest update was released. For the most part it works quite well. Not all the sensors I have on my bike want to play together nicely with Zwift (I have to pick between them or the trainer, basically), and in the forums it looks like some smart trainers don't always work. Performance on my tablet varies, the new NYC course seemed a bit more choppy than what I remember from the other courses, could be my imagination though. I have a new tablet on the way, which should have muuuuuch better performance. What phone/tablet will you use?

I saw some buddies toy around with an unofficial WOW server many years ago, but it looked boring. Now Warcraft 2! I spent hours clicking on the various units to hear all their responses. And of course Dune 2, for some reason I preferred it to Red Alert/C&C... perhaps I should try Dune Legacy when I finally have some leave.

Is there any form of single player in Destiny 2? I've barely had any time to game the last few months, nevermind attempt multiplayer, so something short and pretty would suffice.
  23. I'm definitely not an expert, but I got the same Severin two weeks ago - to me it seems more quiet and faster than the Krups I had before. There is some static on the ground coffee holder causing a bit of a mess, if I remember correctly my Krups did the same. Not sure how to fix that, but until I can afford the fancy R4k+ ones this is good enough.
  24. The points for this weekend's Mangaung Cycle Tour shows already, so perhaps they fixed whatever was broken. Also, weekly goal achieved so... rest week it is!
  25. I didn't either. Plus I didn't claim it, I had a stupid moment and couldn't find the specific page on the site . So same points for 160km and 5h, as for walking the Park Run the day before. We've already met our yearly goal, so meh.
