  1. That's it! I demand a sketch! I don't understand how when inserting a extra layer of rubber inside the rim, the diameter is increased.
  2. However it may be, the insulation tape and valve works great. I find rim tape very expensive without any real gains.
  3. Or the dolphins in the sea!
  4. Sure, so putting the rubber inside the rim doesn't do anything to the diameter.
  5. @morewoodkid, you sound like a conversion kit salesman. That is absolute rubbish. points 2 and 3 that are "critical", are in fact not. My non-tubeless rim has taken a pounding, but the tyre is yet to fall off, slip off, tear or blow out. Honestly. Also, UST tyres are not required.
  6. I did mine with a loose valve and insulation tape. Thats it. Take the insulation tape twice around the rim. Force the valve through the tape (it will fit quite snugly). Put some sealant at the valve base. Put on tyres, put in sealant and bobs your uncle. No rim tape needed. The valve is the most expensive part at about R70.
  7. Nope, the meeting was yesterday. They are talking of starting the process after the SWC.
  8. I was at a meeting yesterday at SANParks' offices. They highlighted a shortage of funds in the SANParks kitty. Based on the value of available land in Pretoria they decided to relocate Groenkloof Nature Reserve's animals to parks surrounding Gauteng. The land will be devided and sold to businessmen and developers. More details to follow. A sad day for mountain biking in Gauteng.
  9. Sure, if they achieve something. Maybe everyone seeing the armbands realise they are for a specific cause, and notices that I have committed to the cause. But, that should be something you personally decide to do. Signing a code of conduct means nothing really. It is a conscious decision you have to make. It's like sticking the Think Bike stickers on your car and then continue driving like you used to.
  10. What do these token arm band stuff really help. Sure, it makes you feel better about yourself, because you care. But, now that you have worn the armband and the event is over, nothing changes. Everyone goes back to their daily routine, forgetting all the commotion and excitement of displaying their cause.
  11. I have a 2005 Mongoose Tyax Comp and absolutely no problems yet. I have really put this bike through its paces.
  12. Great idea. I think you will have to oil the chain well after cleaning it though. The grease in the links will be gone.
  13. Training for the argus?
  14. Centurion Cycles. Best place around.
  15. Sure, but only once!
  16. oil them.
  17. @Regard, I agree. Someone always complains. So far in most of the races I took part in Spectrum Sport were the time keepers. Not one complaint yet. Every time they are spot on. Also, I prefer the bunch starts by far! No cluttering at the single track.
  18. Don't worry. Nobody can see the scars inside...
  19. No no no .... Get one of those Dunlop ones from Makro. Costs R200 and does exactly the same thing as a Camel Back.
  20. I will be keen. What are the costs etc?
  21. I'm sorry, but in my work environment I don't scream and shout at people if they hinder my productivity. Everyone is human and deserve to be treated accordingly. Screaming (instead of asking politely) at the person will definitely not improve your performance. Hogwash, if someone screams at me on the road I will give them a piece of my mind. Big time!
