  2. Your LBS should be able to help. Merida has always been good to their dealers. Supply may be an issue.

  9. Some nice new goodies available. EEwings cranks Garburak
  10. Looking forward to this. Long time since we had a build! Look at Dangerholm for some inspiration with integration.
  11. In my mind I have this ultimate Bikehubber bike race across africa with very little resources featuring @Jewbacca, @Rouxenator, @copperhead (RIP) (by the way Greg is doing great!), @FRAIL K, winner takes all.
  12. Almost in the money! Well done @Sid the Sloth
  13. Long story. Lend by MTB for a buddy to ride Trans Augrabies. Every weekend we ride with the boys, when I took my wife`s bike, she frowned... Did not know Giant rims are made of cheese, managed to dent the rim, with my youngest on the Feeva seat. Well new tyres...she did not notice🤐 First Maxxis in our house, Schwable and Conti previously.
  14. Good luck to all Hubbers!! Splitting the $ between Sid and Jewbacca to run line honners.
  15. Where do one place the bets?
  16. With sadness I can`t remember the type/name of BMX I had, it was red. It was definitely not a GT, Mongoose or even a Raliegh, probably a chonkie from the Transkei. I do have one memory of the bike when we lived in Queenstown, I could not stopped in time and ended up in my moms prized roses...she showed no compassion for all of the thorns in me. My sister and I received our bikes the same day, she could not ride hers, I took a large pink and white single speed cruiser with basket around the block. I was on a bike 24-7. Moving to Upington, my "business" was to look after holiday makers houses, I would clock many kilometers a day between the houses and the municipal swimming pool for sessions. The reason was to earn enough money to buy a road bike to start triathlons. I rode two bikes broken in that time (Silver Bullet, Blou Kablejou) and ended up with my mom`s pink Nisiki womens bike, I rode that bike (Pink Baroness) with pride for two years, even taking out a few traffic furniture sprints. It became "cool" for all of the swimming team members to meet up and ride to the pool vs mom dropping them. I even took out my girlfriend for a bike ride, trashing her fathers mtb in the canal. My hope is that my own two boys will experience the freedom only a bicycle can give.
  17. https://pivotandrun.co.za/ See prices has increased, almost comparable to other shoe brands. NB factory outlet!
  18. Do not sell it. Restore, keep as prized possession as a remembrance of those happy memories.
  19. Not an expert on BMX`s. Go and look in this thread, there is Facebook pages with knowledgeable persons.
  20. Upington had 55mm the last two days with more to come on Friday. Some places in the Kalahari over 100. Received feedback from Brandvlei and Pofadder with rainfall. Agree should be good for the flower season. First time a early morning run was canned due to rain for consecutive days in Upington.
  21. When I first looked at the picture, almost look like you are leaving a stof streep behind you, but it is the long grass.
  22. Bought my eldest son (turned 5 in June) the Norco Samurai. He is very fond of his bike. Personally good value for money. I have nothing to compare with weight wise. I was also against training wheels but my wife had other ideas. She put training wheels on whilst I`m at work. Three weeks ago I removed them, it took two practice sessions of no longer than 15 min for him to find is balance. We have done 2x10km loops between vineyards and retaining walls, not smoove, he looks for every muddy puddle and rock. Excuse the photos, was a video of our Sunday ride. There is a carbon Momsen SL in the classifieds, tempted to buy. Even looked at china frame import last night.
  23. Just love the banter. Good luck to all!!!
  24. Very pretty!!!
