  1. Louis should go for the Polka Dots!!!
  2. PhilipV Disclaimer - I am not technically minded Just came off the phone with the installer. Our system is a week old, 8.8Kw Synsynk inverter, 2x5.2Kw Hubble batteries and 8x545 watt JA Solar panels. Our previous system was 5.5Kw Victron with2X4.8Kw Blue Nova lithium batteries. Last Saturday during load shedding we used the Hubble batteries to below 15% at which stage it shuts automatically off. Full drain within 2hours...our previous battery system was enough for 6 - 7 hours. It is a beautiful warm sunshine day in Upington, over lunch the panels was only performing at 30%, due to the batteries being "full", but the batteries is only showing at 78% of full charge. It was explained to me that there are many "little batteries" inside and they need to sync, so some of them are full but others not(reason for 78% shown) and it can take 30 days to sync... Only after the install it was mentioned the Hubble batteries have a 5 year warranty. Blue Nova have 10 years. We have another appointment set for Tuesday and will report back. The Hubble batteries are sleek, small and good looking, the Blue Nova was a silver box on the floor. Not sure if it makes sense.
  3. Had similar system out our previous house. Was the best money we spend. When we moved our children for the first time experience load shedding. After one month pulled the plug for a new system, this time around I just could not afford Victron with all of the other renovations. I see Nedbank is financing systems even through MFC which is tempting to add another 5.2kw battery and 8 x 545 panels to our existing new system, to my unscientific calcs, we should be very close to off the grid. So far I am satisfied with the Sunsynk inverter. Still on the fence with the performance of the Hubble batteries.
  4. Well done to Louis. Inspiring ride from Louis! In the past have been critical about his performance, but this year he is going for it. Rate it as one of the top cycling performance across all disciplines for a South African. It was a privilege's to watch. All the best for the remainder of the Tour.
  5. Donation made, all the best.
  6. An attacked on Col de Telegraph coming from JV? Why not Ineos, let Pidcock and Yates attack in tandem.
  7. That cobble stage cost him dearly. Agree with you, probably his best form ever. In some articles he came over as relaxed, joking, all good signs for me. Not sure top 10 is possible with the names ahead, have penciled in top 12. I do enjoy seeing this Louis V2!!!
  8. How fast are you going to be now!!
  9. Will be in the area over December holidays, staying at Boknes. Looking forward to some rides from Kenton.
  10. I am with you! To be honest, I went on the cheap this time round, did not make use of my preferred installer, he only works with Victron and took the cheapest quote. It is in the garage out of sight, except for when I am on the IDT.
  11. Sort of cycling related, means no cycling purchases for the next 3 years. Can at least watch TDF.
  12. My Lotto dream bike. How much just for the frame?
  13. I am day dreaming about this...in my future hopefully before I turn 70 and not on a dumb trainer at 04:30 in the garage. Go on long extended bike adventures!!!
  14. Louis Meintjes had a good ride! Few GC riders behind him.
  15. And their is stock, not sure about getting them to SA.
  16. The search function does not work well.
  17. Was thinking a stage and calling it a day.
  18. Hoka has the the tri market covered. The Comrades runners, set in stone regarding their shoe brand loyalty. At least now, Hoka is available in SA, back in the day had to import.
  19. New day, new options https://ventumracing.com/bikes/road/#explorer
  20. From Cyclingnews, Impey has not yet join the team bubble due to contact with high risk covid. Team still to decide. That would be bad news, was looking forward to his ride, was thinking probably his last go.
  21. @Sidmouthsee you are from the Eastern Cape. Will be down their for December holidays. If at all possible, look at the bikes from @Furbz, @Lanoy Sportsin the flesh. Exotic will not meet many riders on the road with them.
  22. From all of the commentators, you have an actual hand. Would say Royal Flush!! PS. The offer still stands for some hot weather testing, wink wink Aurum in white please.
  23. Is Wilier still in SA? 0 SLR could be an option or perhaps Filante in Ultegra spec Personally would go with Superleggera, the name sounds HOT! Enough shopping with someone else bossi. Was nice to day dream. Buy the bike that excites you.
  24. How old is the boy in the video? My boy is happy if he makes braap sounds, when he rides in the neighbourhood. Very nice bike, told my wife and mom about them, having two boys, can always transfer…it was just me that was exicited….
