  1. The bikes gets used every day from walking the dogs and just messing around. Over weekends on either a Saturday or Sunday we do around 15km with the eldest on his bike and the little one on the Feva seat. The current 16inch runs out of gearing very quickly, even on straight roads and on the hills, a helping hand from behind is needed. Decide we are going to go 20inch. We have the luxury to past down. The development on the youngest child is much faster on 18 months he started to ride the Muna balance bike. He did the 3km dog walk route on his own last night. There was a question regarding the weights above: Titan Hades disc - 11.2kg Titan Hades SE - 11.4kg - It does have 40mm more front suspension and air fork Titan Trail - 11.9kg The current Norco is 8.11kg, not sure were this leaves me. I generally overthink life and this is just one decision to add.
  2. I showed him this bike one evening. Next day on school run he told my wife he is getting a new bike...which was news to her...
  3. Interested in this topic. My eldest is 5 and rides a 16inch Norco Samurai. He loves the bike! Riding every where over any obstacles with little regard. We have officially run out of renovation funds, so part of our property is undeveloped, so I went and built them a small double figure of 8 slash pump/mtb track, amateur level with clay from the canal, that was hard work... The bike looks small to me and the seat post is on full extension. Is the jump from 16 to 24 to much? I do not mind going to 20,since the youngest is 2 and unfortunately he receives all the hand me downs, currently on the Muna balance bike hand me down. He did not want me to even replace the grips. The shift to 20 or 24 means gear shifts and front shocks or not. I am concern that the gear shifts will take the joy out of his riding? He is not very patient in learning new skills especially if it comes from dad. He calls my bike springs(shocks) and I know he will love shocks since our riding is off-road or on corrugated roads. I am a bit of a Titan fan although we do not own any of their bikes. I still need to figure out how to support my LBS and get the bike down to the coast for Christmas holidays.
  4. Not sure it will fit, but look at the old Momsen Vipa open seatpost guide, perhaps a bit to long…time to get out the dremel. https://twowheelstrading.co.za/product/vipa-spares/frame-parts/vipa-downtube-cable-inlet-port-open/ https://twowheelstrading.co.za/product/vipa-spares/frame-parts/vipa-downtube-cable-inlet-port-black/
  5. Show some pictures after the upgrades.
  6. I have no beef in this, but recalled this survey done by Pinkbike. Did not read again, there were one xcc earning 500. https://m.pinkbike.com/news/how-much-do-professional-mountain-bikers-get-paid-pinkbikes-state-of-the-sport-survey.html?pbref=p

    Vuelta 2022

Is there are riders that is doing TDF/Vuelta double?
  9. Can`t remember all of the details, but I did make a case against a guy that stole R10k from my wife with a trampoline for the kids. Basically went to SAPS, made an affidavit with supporting documents. Followed up to whom the case was handed to, made contact with him. Provided more details and other cases across SA. The inspector connected all of the cases and eventually the guy was arrested and for my case in Upington, was transported from Gauteng. The was one document, can`t recall the number that took time, but basically gave the inspector the authority to get bank statements from the bank. It can be done, but their is sacrifices.
  10. Bike came out looking great. My comment: Keep and enjoy.

  14. I have asked this for Louis Meintjes after the Tour, nothing. Asked for bike checks from epic, nothing. I am definitely no longer Bikehub target market.
  15. Sort of related. When reading the article, could not help but recall the memories of my Giant TCR Aero with Mike Burrows seat post. Sadly Mike passed recently. https://cyclingtips.com/2022/08/mike-burrows-was-much-more-than-just-a-legendary-bicycle-designer/ It is om to do list to clean the "old" bike, named the Black Widow, and post some pics here. My parents went to great lengths to buy this bike for me, was 5xtimes the value of our family car and old 84 VW Passat.

    Transbaviaans 2022

Brother in law finished around 16h, last 40km the mud made riding very difficult, walking stretches. Have not asked about the bike🤐
  17. Tell us more about the bike.
  18. Few days late..convession, I am a emotional eater! Was shocked when a chocolate slab at my Spar across the office charged R21.90 vs our local Village shop near the home R17.90 for the same chocolate.
  19. Not sure about Sora, but my 2002 Giant TCR Aero came with Ultegra sti’s. Still have the bike! Except for one mark on the chainstay, “spotless”.
  20. Wayne, would love to. My wrenching skill beyond hopeless, will probably brake 2 and on the third try get someone to do. Busy glueing the boys plane back together, pappa hy gaan nie weer vlieg nie. Not a Scott fan…three bike brands come to mind: https://www.arc8bicycles.com/shop/explore/mtb/evolve-fs https://www.unno.com/dash/
