Collects from 3 bathrooms, kitchen and 2 student suites that I am renting out. 2 day installation. Asked for a meter so that I can monitor my Greywater recovery vs total usage. Very amped about this installation. The guys did an amazing job.
  2. I for one am tempted for another Pioneer, but cannot for the life of me think why you would enter before they have even announced the route. The only event that is able to pull that move off is the Cape Epic. It is good to see a decent corporate sponsor on board. Hopefully Momentum can do for the CPT what FNB did for W2W.
  3. Lets hope that Faf did not put his foot in it with appealing the ball tampering matter. He may still face a 1 match ban after the appeal which will put him out of contention for the first game against Sri Lanka.
  4. Viljoen - he now needs to get in behind Rabada / Phehlukwayo Harmer - competing with Shamsi / Phangiso / Maharaj van Zyl - we are struggling to make space for AB and van Zyl is now behind Bavuma for a test spot. I'm not saying that the current preferred players are better / worse than those leaving, but in SA we tend to stick with players (which I think is a good thing by the way). If I was offered a good contract to play County Cricket / IPL / BBL etc. I would probably take it. Not only is the money good, but the standard of competition is also much better than in our domestic competitions. Our own 4 day competition is all but extinct (no TV, or even a highlights package of games). While we still have a good talent pool, we need to invest more in the Varsity setup, club cricket and the provincial setups to have a system that can accommodate the vast talent pool we have at our disposal.
  5. I know its been discussed on here before, but how would the participants feel about some sort of qualifying criteria to do the long route on an event like this? I am not sure as to what the circumstances are with the cyclist that passed away during the event, but it could very likely have been someone that was not fit enough to tackle the race, and from Mamil's account above, it seems like the short route would have been a much better fit for him. Races like 2 Oceans and Comrades have entry criteria which adds a bit of admin hassle, but surely is in the event and the participants' interest? Thoughts please.
  6. That will then come down to the team with the 6 strongest domestiques pacing their GC contender to a win. With the team setup it gets much harder to try and break away early with the B-team pacing you.
  7. Or 900 odd who did not bother to put their timing chips on. Quite normal really, particularly if you are only out on a joy ride with your better half / friends for the day opposed to "racing" it.
  8. Did the short route and was done just before 11am, so yes, there would have been riders out there a bit later. The weekend before my garmin hit 40deg at about 10am while I was out riding, so I guess conditioning yourself to ride in hot conditions helps with whether or not you find it hot or not.
  9. Don't think it could have been sunstroke. Max temp I recorded was 33 deg which is hot, but not excessively so. Will see if I can find out more.
  10. We had a great day out on the short route. A bit of traffic in the first half, but once I got to G Spot, things were nice and open, with the long route race snakes weaving their way through the short route riders. I've not dine much riding on Donnier side, and enjoyed the more unfamiliar trails on that side. Tomorrow should be fast and furious.
  11. Perhaps line up Treu or Schoeman as Bok coach?
  12. I assume that this is an individual signing and not a team signing, meaning that Knox will have to source capable partners for the stage races he is planning. This makes it slightly more challenging to compete against settled teams who are used to racing and training with each other. Good luck Max. Its not easy being a pro racer in SA these days.
  13. I'm sure karma will sort him out next season. Senna / Fangio would not have event thought about pulling such a move.
  14. Agreed. Before the race LH tried to claim the "moral victory", but after disobeying a direct team instruction and potentially placing his own team mate in danger with his tactics I hope that the team grows a pair and discipline him with a stern internal disciplinary procedure. He is definitely not bigger than the team.
  15. Yet, its the one event that contributed liberally to the trail fund in the last few years. On one end the trail gets a beating, on the other end much needed funding is generated.
  16. Boschendal trails. Hot, but good!
  17. Never say never again. Simonsberg Conservancy.
  18. I think most of us are torn here. The Epic seems to have misjudged the zero tolerance to doping view that the general public has. Its been said before. Let him race, but do not promote it. If anything state that the ACE noted his prior offences that was before the 1/1/2013 date and wish him success in a clean and hard race.
  19. Ok, so the matter is now resolved. Lets get back to the cricket. I'm hoping for a decent batting track in Adelaide.
  20. Agreed. I had an appointment with someone at home yesterday over lunch time. When he was late I phoned his office, and they got back to me to say that he got held up at his previous appointment and will be at my house in 15 minutes. Now I could have gone to their company FB page to whinge there, but why do that when its quicker and easier to just pick up the phone?
  21. Perhaps he has a secret crush on Greg and is hoping that he'll come and personally deliver his order.
  22. I think its great that he wishes to continue the relationship with a brand that he has been involved with for so long. I'm not a big fan of Maxxis tyres, but having Greg more involved at Rush Sports will surely create some interest.
  23. I'm waiting for him to take the sweet out of his mouth, hand it to the square leg umpire, shine the ball, and then put the mint back into his mouth. (or at least that's what I would have done).
  24. Or Morris. I quite like the kid.
  25. If the Aussies didn't fall into their own arses and batted through to the new ball just at least once in this series, that 5th bowler option would have been a necessity, not a luxury. Fortunately our quicks did the job after that first Aussie partnership in the first test was broken, but you can't bank on that. I'd take JP over Wayne Parnell any day of the week, who would probably be the next in line for that middle order all rounder slot. Man, I miss Kallis... batting at 3 and coming on 1st change as well...
