  1. I'm really jealous of almost everyone posting on this thread. Other than my daily commute I've only been able to get one ride in for June. I've spent some time on the IDT, but on account of cold/flu I've had to keep the intensity down. [emoji40] Also really itchy to ride my LTHT since I kitted it with 1x10 on Friday. FFS! 2. Are you practicing for the Ride To Nowhere event? [emoji185] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  3. Got me some new lights and gloves for the cold, dark morning commutes. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  4. Its clear skies for you guys, unfortunately piss cold temperatures. [emoji48] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  5. Almost thought you were posting a selfie of sorts there. [emoji4] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  6. Hope the weather play's in youre favor tomorrow and you guys have a great race. Also hope the event as a whole is a success. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  7. We had a beautifull sunrise against the clouds this morning. I have added no filters to this pic, but for some reason my phones camera gave it an almost pastel painted look and added some more yellow colouring than there actually was. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  8. After more than a week off the bike, except for the trainer, I finally got out of the house on the mtb. We were blessed with a beautifull warm sunny day in the Breederiver Valley. Did alot of climbing and took most off my pics from the top of the hills. Ended up with 31km's and 900m of climbing. Must admit it was very taxing on the body. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  9. Beautifull pics, looks like a really nice place to ride. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  10. This probably fits the criteria as much as a Uno Turbo is a race car, but its a hardtail and it has 160mm of travel now. It will have to do until I can afford a propper long travel frame. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks, all started with the frame that I traded for 2 bottles of red wine. Started collecting parts, adding and swapping out as I went along, with no apparent end in sight.Basically just making sh@t up as I go along. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  12. I've been waiting patiently to post this here, finally it all came together. 160mm fork with 20mm thru-axle Zee hub built onto Sun rim paired with possibly the last 26" Maxxis Minion I'll ever see and fitted to my GT Avalanche single speed. Still need to fit some gears at some stage, but that can wait for now. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  13. With youre ambition and my budget we wont come far. [emoji4] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  14. Its envy that forces me to try and make you feel guilty bro.[emoji48] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  15. I've gradually been collecting the components and finally got everything together. The Manitou Nixon fork has been lying in wait for a while now, I got the Shimano Zee hub today and had it built onto this older Sun Rim. Had to get a Zee as the Manitou has a 20mm thru-axle. Tomorrow this Maxxis Minion, that has also been gathering dust, will be added to the above combo and all will finally be fitted to my singlespeed. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  16. Nice buy Mr Itchy.[emoji4] Shore you'll enjoy it to bits. Hope you recover soon and all the best with the new job. [emoji106] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  17. From Oudshoorn we moved on to Gansbay to spend a few days there. I mamaged one ride on Thursday morning. Was an utterly bad ride, riddled with many problems and had me reconsider cycling. Luckely my love for the sport stood strong. I managed to snap a few pics even though I felt so miserable. Up until this sunrise everything was stil fine..... This pic is from the hills above Franskraal facing towards 'die plaat' outside Gansbay.Got lost a few times on my way up, poor reception saw me struggling to find my way and I eventually found the right road, aptly named The Sandpit. This is halfway down the hill overlooking Franskraal. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  19. I believe if you treat people good, people will treat you good. After a bit of looking and askingvaround I found a small trail network on a farm outside Oudtshoorn. These trails are currently closed to the public, but I was granted permission by the owners, one of them a SA pro mtb rider, to ride here. Although a bit unkept, these trails proved to be great fun and had some beautifull scenery. And I was blessed with a beautifull sunrise. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  20. Took a week off from work last week. Did some roadtripping with the family. First stop was Oudshoorn where we stayed for a few days. On the Monday evening I decided to go check out the town and found some trails in the koppies around the reservoir. Found some of the statutes and buildings very interesting. 21. Took part in the Willow Creek Mtb aswell this morning.Turned out to be a sh@t idea to go ride with a slight cold. Atleast I got a few shots while cruizing along with some slower buddys of mine. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  22. Reminds me of a Guns & Roses song: "Take me home to paradise city where the grass is green and the girls are pretty Oh won't you please take me home! " Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  23. Not much to see on my rides in the dark nowadays. But I find this nightriding somewhat calming and with not being able to see anything around me except wat comes up in the ray of light from my new Speedmaster 1000lumen I feel much more focused. Only having to consentrate on the trail ahead helps me focus on my breathing and cadence vs power, especially on the climbs. This pic might seem random, but those who now where it is will know what it takes to get here. Everytime I go over one of these bridges I'm pleased to see they are putting our club fees into the trails. In the past we had to stop and climb over the gate with our bikes.
