  1. You guys are going soft, when I was a youth everyday was so Hot and we use to walk 15km to school barefoot on a gravel road in the blazing heat.......Except for the winters, then it would be 2foot deep snow we had to conquar, barefoot for 15km.[emoji48] [emoji23] [emoji4]
  2. As ʼn man se gat jeuk moet jy hom krap.[emoji4] Enjoy youre new 'Canadien Bullet Train'.......for the next 6months.[emoji23]
  3. Yesterday I had to come home for the week,so I had the wife drop me halfway between Gansbay and Worcester at the T-junction where the R43 and the N2 meet.Proceded to cycle home from there, didnt take many photos as it was a hot afternoon.I had to stop to take a pic of this though.
  4. Visited the Hemel-en-Aarde trails on Saturday and did a mix of the black and red route. This route has some stunning views, here we passed the lookout point above Hermanus.
  5. Did a lekker ride with some nice climbing and great views in the Gansbay area today.
  6. Welcome to the BikeHub sethm87,those Axis A70 are really good starter bikes, they are selling like 'soetkoek' right now.Its a very capable little bike and if you get more serious about cycling you can easily upgrade it or sell it and buy something else.Enjoy it and may you have many happy miles on yours bike.
  7. Sorry to hear, what a k@k thing to happen, especialy this time of the year.Heal up soon.
  8. As they say,all good things come with time and a bit of patience.
  9. Havent been on the BikeHub much lately, this is the first I've seen or heard of youre crash.Hope it wasnt to big and painfull, and hope youre recovery is speedy.Sounds like you should give the road bike some attention.
  10. Also running the Vittoria Barzo/Saguaro combo on my XTC,works much better for me than the previous Schwalbe RoRo/RaRa combo. Will however not give very high mileage with a mix of tar and off-road use.For high mileage I havent found a better tyre than the Maxxis Crossmark, wich unfortunately give very little grip in any sand, loose gravel or wet conditions.
  11. None of my usual riding buddy's pitched so I went for a solo ride and decided to go big(ish).Rode to Villiersdorp and back on a backroad.A broken seatpostclamp bolt saw me struggling with keeping the seat up on the way bac and I ended up with very sore knee's.[emoji20]
  12. I put my 60mm stem from my singlespeed on this afternoon, will test it over the weekend to see how it feels.
  13. Hey NicNacDH,looks like you went 'bombef@k'.[emoji106]
  14. Just need to get a shorter stem now,my 100mm one seems to be a bit long. Will see how it handles this weekend.
  15. The courier dropped of some parts from Rapidé earlier today for my next SS build. The Big Ass 780mm handlebar is for my current steed, and looking good if I might say so myself.
  16. Would like to take a long high intensity ride, and then get on the bike and go for a trail ride.[emoji48]
  17. That is a pretty machine,so much off jealous here.[emoji106]
  18. Looks like youre PC went all 'Tapatalk' on itself.
  19. If it were me,I would not have wanted to ride any further.......
  20. Those twin brakes look scary,I know what kind of stopping power my single sided 160mm rotor brakes have, those must've been dangerously potent to say the least.
  21. Looks Futtin Awesome!
  22. Happy Birthday dude,hope you had/have a good one.[emoji109]
  23. Hi Goosebay, not sure about the singletrack you are referring to,but there are lots of what I believe to be newly built singletrack in the Rawsonville area. I usually ride with a friend who lives in the area who shows us the trails. You could get in touch with Slanghoek Louis here on the BikeHub,he is one of the trail builders in the Rawsonville area. Our local club,Worcester Wheelers, have some trails around Worcester aswell, but mostly jeep track with some singletrack. You can go have a look on the worcesterwheelers.co.za website to find out about access to these trails. There is also a boat load of district road around here to ride if youre looking for distance.Drop me line when youre in the area and we could take a ride together sometime.
  24. Had half a nice ride again today. At about 3km in my pedals decided to do this.Luckily I had a spare set in the bakkie, went back for them abd continued on our way.We started with a piece of single track just outside Rawsonville that joins up with the Stettyn dam road.Unfortunatly my brother-in-law took a OTB and landed back first on some rocks.Trying to act tough he said he was fine and we continued on towards the dam.About halfway we stopped for a breether,we could see he was suffering alot and he finally decided to drop the tough guy act,so we turned around and headed home.
  25. These trails look amazingly good, will have to make a point of doing the event next year.
