  2. I set out this morning on a ride to a ride.Joined up with 4 others to have a test ride of the 30km route of one of our local races. My kniees are stil hurting very much from a ride earlier this week,so my average speed was very poor.Ended up with about 80km's in the legs when I got home.Ouch!! The route runs through a few farms and we passed this game camp on one of them. One of the guys got a flat and we ended up making a picnic of it.This pic was on my way home riding alone again. This was an atempt at a new kit selfie. This was going uphill and both my kniees were shot by now, hence the k@k expresion on my face.[emoji4] Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  3. Thats how you get stronger. The High cadence spinning is more taxing on the lungs/fitness,but youre legs work slightly less.Thats why the roadies have such thin legs and us mtb folks have the buldging muscles.[emoji185] But seriously, when youre lungs/fitness get use to the high cadence you'll be able to go faster in the heavier gears aswell without spinning, thus building more leg power and the ability to keep up the speed on climbs. In short it makes you faster! [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

  9. As of late all my evening rides are spent mostly in the dark,so not much to take pics of.However yesterday evening on my ride on one of the usual routes past the nearby game reserve I noticed that one of the closed of roads had been reopened,I jumped at the opertunity and headed up past the lions den.Even though there were two fences between us I still got an eerie feeling from them staring at me with those glearing eyes. 12. Did a ride with a couple of mates this morning around the Slanghoek valley. We explored some newly built trails and if these are for the Gravel & Grape stage race you guys are in for a treat. Was a long day in the saddle as the other two were very unfit and I am suffering from a slight cold and the 80km road almost got the better of us. We passed this little guy on the road. Some of the new singletrack. Some beautifull views from the top of the trail. We made a pitstop at Goudini Spa to have a Coke and a rest in the shade before tackling the last 25km home.
