  1. I've been wanting to start a thread about this for the longest time. Teach people how to make their own decals. Not everyone is proficient in Adobe and not everyone has access to the software either. But I've been toying with oldschool Freehand MX. The software may be over a decade old. But its more than capable. Its also free and quick to download and much easier to learn. Especially for those with no prior design software experience. I also want the thread to be a collection of resources for making bike related decals as well. Vector logos, typefaces, high res png's with transparent backgrounds, etc. A place to showcase work and talk about the processes involved regarding scaling before going to print. Especially wheel decals. Anyhoo. When Myles swopped forks on his Reign. I threw this together in under 5 minutes using nothing but Freehand and stuff I got from Google. http://i.imgur.com/wgNj4os.png
  2. There are some bikes I love just for the name. Not all great bikes but certainly great names. Giant Faith. Rocky Mountain Slayer. Scott Gambler. Banshee Rune. Cotic Rocket. Pyga Stage. Transition Smuggler. Santa Cruz Bronson. Trek Remedy. They just roll off the tongue so well. The Pivot Firebird is definitely on that list. The last one looked ***. But this one. Well... http://www.bicycling.com/sites/bicycling.com/files/articles/2016/08/pivot_firebird_carbon-1.jpg http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/stories/2016/08/17/max_LM_Pivot_catalog_17_3333_262346.jpg?1471498036 http://www.sicklines.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/2017-Pivot-Firebird-12-1024x683.jpg http://www.bicycling.com/sites/bicycling.com/files/pivot_firebird_carbon-5.jpg
  3. I warned him too. Everyone knows 29ers get flats all the time.
  4. Some more from yesterday's mission. http://i.imgur.com/GitTjBu.jpg There's room for all wheel sizes on shuttle day. Two 29ers make their mark. http://i.imgur.com/3gPDSYK.jpg I love shots of travel being used. Who says we don't need long travel bikes in SA? http://i.imgur.com/HokuWvy.jpg Eyes on the prize http://i.imgur.com/MUTi39L.jpg A line. http://i.imgur.com/a6wJ4cH.jpg Your's truly. The thing I love most about this little bridge is the right hander that saves you shortly after.
  5. Is the mongo helmet cheaper than the leatt?
  6. Lets assume every major bike manufacturer adopts boost withing the next year. Which won't happen. There's still a plethora of 142 x 12 hubs out there and all the manufacturers aren't going to stop making them anytime soon.
  7. You take that back Myles. She is voluptuous! Not heavy. You know... Like Ashley Graham
  8. After their hiatus Morewood could make a frame out of solid lead and I'd still think its pretty.
  9. If they slapped the Shova name on this thing I would have had my pitchfork sharpened already. Lets assume the Zula LT is a tribute to its predecessor with a playful twist.
  10. I'm assuming a 130mm rear squish means using a shock which has an i2i between 180 and 190mm. If this is true considering the amount of available room around the swingarm's shock mounting point. A 185mm i2i trunion mounted rear metric shock could squeez up to 150mm of rear travel out of this frame. http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/stories/2016/04/07/full_Metric_Shock_Sizing_711223.jpg
  11. I've always wanted to smash trails on a raw prototype. Looks good. But I agree with the hammer wielding expat. Slack the head to a respectable 67.
  12. Bikehub needs to do a full front page feature with an interview and some new selfies. I can't think of anyone who has become this infamous for not being famous. If he were to sign a pair of socks and it was put up for auction. I would bid like 10 bucks or something. Make it happen.
  13. If you ever decide to buy new grips I'll buy your old ones.
  14. I originally ordered them from Lizzard Who list the pack as a stocked item on their website. But I was later told that they have no stock and neither do any of their stores. The suggested alternatives had nothing on this bag. So I opted for a refund instead. Then a friend dropped a link for a company selling the same bag. Macete Electronics. Looked like a reseller at the same price but their website listed it as a stocked item as well so I enquired. Turns out they didn't have stock either. BUT, She said she would look around for me and 2 days later presto!
  15. Can I brag about my new backpack? I've been wearing it around the house for testing purposes. http://www.macete.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/integer.jpg Claim's it can take a 3 litre bladder but I wouldn't go higher than 2. I'll be using my existing Camelbak bladder anyways. Lots and lots of sleeves and pockets. Mid sized so ideal for all day out with the bike and your essentials. I'd say about 5 litres total packing space? 7 including a bladder filled with water. http://www.lizzardonline.com/446-thickbox_default/integer.jpg Insulated sleeve to keep bladder cold http://www.lizzardonline.com/442-thickbox_default/integer.jpg Ventilated padding on the back. You can't see it from the pic but another nifty little feature is you can stash the front seatbelt straps into its own side pockets if you don't feel like using them. http://www.lizzardonline.com/450-thickbox_default/integer.jpg A kangaroo pouch folds out from a small bottom zip. This was what really sold the pack for me. It makes slogging a fullface uphill very convenient. The 2 clips hook onto the top of the bag to secure it. http://www.lizzardonline.com/452-thickbox_default/integer.jpg The hook inside this pounch is handy if you toss your keys in the bag. No need to dig for them when I get to the bakkie. Some other slots for other things too but I'll probably use this pouch for snacks. http://www.lizzardonline.com/448-thickbox_default/integer.jpg Some sort of chainring slash reptile logo so folks know I mean business. Under R400 for a brand new pack with all those goodies so I'm pretty stoked.
  16. I like the read tape with the white saddle as is.
  17. When I heard they were doing a sequel I was hoping they weren't just trying to cash in on one of the most iconic films of all time. If I really had to choose one film. My favorite movie of all time. As hard as that may be. Trainspotting would probably be it. I probably watch it 50 times and memorized half of the dialogue. Never again Swanny. I'm off the scag. Serious? No more Swanny. I'm finished with that shite. Gonna get it right this time. Sort it out. Get off it for good. I've heard that before. The Sickboy method? Well it nearly worked for him init? No he's always been lacking in moral fibre. Well he knows a lot about Sean Connery though. Thats hardly a substitute
  18. Brings a whole new meaning to the old dance idiom. 'Two left feet'
  19. Haha. I actually wanted the plain black ones but bought these just because they came in at a good price. At least now I can step up and show them kids I ain't just about beatboxing. Because when someone challenges you to dance... Dammit Skollie You better dance.
  20. My favourite bit too. Jeez he whips that first jump like its nothing. I never expect to clear that thing and when you do its so unnerving waiting for your tyres to grab on the other side. I wish I could be as comfortable as he is doing blind sections like that. Even though you know whats on the other side. Not seeing it makes me very nervous.
  21. Man I wish I could ride Paarl as well as he does.
  22. Buycycle just got a shipment of these at a really good price so I ordered a pair. Suitable for date night and perfect for Bellville's notorious underground brakedance gambling circut.

  24. You're the devil arent you.
  25. Some people just wanna see the world burn... http://i.imgur.com/RwRZ4kz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/K6mqA76.jpg
