  4. I just finished the series finale last night. Closure. No rubbish open ended cliff hangers in hopes of a returning season. So if anything, you can look forward to a great story. Kinda like closing a good book after a satisfying read.
  5. Sjoe. This thread takes me back to school days. Which was the last time I built anything. Made the usual school stuff mostly pine. Bedside tables, desk. linen kist, etc. But I was pretty chuffed about my final matric project. A coffee table. Spent half the year lathing the short imbuia legs which was reclaimed from a broken bed. Man I loved that smell. Couldn't afford much raw wood and school supplies were pretty limited so I boxed the top out of pine with a glass centre. Staining the pine was a bad idea though I should have just left it clear. Years later I replaced the top with a piece of bamboo butchers block. It was an off cut from my cousins kitchen project. Turned out to be big enough and had it cut to size. The table moved around over the years from house to house and I'm actually trying to think where the hell it could be now. I'm sure its in storage. If I find it I'll post a pic here.

  7. Nothing Awkward about the Golden Girls. Those ladies have swag. But the guy in the first clip. Good grief. He is just rushing him stukkend
  8. Thanks Myles. Needed a good chuckle. Its been a hectic couple of days for me.
  9. I would sell my frontal lobe to drop into DH1 again.
  10. You're halfway there. Hang in there for the rest of season 2's meh...ness. It will be worth it. Season 3 going to knock your socks off. Just finished it myself. Have high expectations for season 4, which is airing now.
  11. My first real job was at the movies. Lets just say that there were more patrons in the theatre than there were tickets sold. Some of my friends would be there all day watching movies. I guess its payback for me now.
  12. That goose better be worthit
  13. Crazy I know. Went to the movies sunday night for the first time in months. Tickets were R170. I snuck some biltong in instead of smarties and I was saying that a movie date could cost you as much as R500. Throw in dinner and Your night out could push R1000 easy.

  15. I actually lost interest in season 2 myself. But the wife was a fan. Then one night I agreed to let her watch it without me while I sat in the same room trying to work. I didn't get much work done. Now I'm hooked again. Not much memory jogging required. There is a fair amount of closure at the end of season 2.
  16. You're in for a treat with Mr Robot. Can't wait for season 2.
  17. Strokes and folks I guess. There are a few shows that in my opinion simply aren't worth all the hype. Then there are some really good ones that not nobody seems to notice.
  18. Fine line Fanie. But I have been delaying everything else to catch up on Banshee. Including GoT.

  20. No spoilers please! Production really does push the envelope. Directing is crisp, deliberate and raw. Some of the dramatic cinematography and editing tells the story so well with the use of intermittent split second flashes of character history in between gritty fight scenes. I love how they reflect whats going through the characters minds. Or how they explore each character so intensely so you get to know them on a personal level. Only for them to be slaughtered later on as if human life is nothing more than a privilege. The excessive violence isn't stylized or exaggerated like a like a Tarantino movie. They could have easily gone that route. Its viciously real and at times even disturbing. Kudos to all the actors too. Well played. Except Hoon Lee (Job) I don't think he's a bad actor. I actually love how colorful his character is. But some of his scenes just come across as mediocre acting that's somehow sugar coated with obscenities and unnecessary expletives. I think he can do better.
  21. Can't believe I haven't been following this thread. I'm at a loss for words. I just spent the last hour catching up. Incredible. Always been interested in Spain. Especially the Catalonia side. Never Been. I regret to advise that however savvy my google maps and google translate abilities might be. I would make a terrible tour guide! I once got lost in Turkey with my brother. I was literally on the wrong continent trying to find our hotel in Istanbul. I also got terribly lost in Bali a couple years later. I was on a knocking about on a scooter with a cheap travel phone I bought there and it had no GPS. Eventually found my way back to my wife though. Then last year Doha. Frikadel I couldn't even find my way out of the airport. Then I went for a walk after we dumped the bags at the hotel and 2 blocks later I was lost. Sim card wasn't working so had to ask the guy at Starbucks to call my hotel to collect me. It was embarrassingly close by and I was back in less than 10 minutes.
  22. I'm on season 7 of Seinfeld reruns. When I'm done I'm doing Frasier.
