  8. We need a DH porn thread, and also a let me see you DH bike thread. Or do we have those already?
  9. If they were ever going to change at any point in the last decade they would have already. That's proper old school single pivot. Stubborn. Morewood at least gooied a rocker or a linkage in their later models. The thing I like about orange's old downhill frames was that the rear travel was adjustable. Your eye to eye options in the rear were endless. You could decide between a rear travel and head angle tradeoff. Frames were made out of lead sure. But they lasted forever. They don't make frames like that anymore. Also that alpine 160 of theirs looks just like an mbuzi
  10. I just love how stubborn orange is.
  11. I hold all that in my 1.5 litre camelbak. But I only put in a litre water. http://www.wigglestatic.com/product-media/5360092875/Camelbak-Hydrobak-1.5-Litre-Hydration-System-Hydration-Systems-Black-SS14-CBHYDROB-0.jpg?w=2000&h=2000&a=7 well except the jacket. That's a gamble I take before I ride
  12. Someone in one of the bike chat groups asked advice on a new trail bike. He was looking to move on from his 2012 spez enduro. He didn't have a massive budget and it would seem then that his decision to move was based more on wheel size peer pressure and salesman sweet talking than anything else. He didn't really do long distances and enjoyed more than anything else smashing trails on the way down. We looked at the trance as an alternative and I said something to him I'll say again now. Off the floor. This bike, is not a trail smasher. Not by modern standards anyways. if you enjoy doing that which your 26er enduro was meant to do. Then this is not an upgrade in my opinion. Its just something different. Having said that I don't feel like it aspires to be a trail bomber on a budget either. The decision to go twinlock with a noodly fork says that. If you want a pike on this bike you probably the same guy who couldn't give two ****s about twinlock. To me, It tends to lean itself to longer rides which, should you have an itch, has the nails to scratch it. This is what sets it apart from most modern trail bikes. Off the cuff I can think of a few friends whom may be suited to buy this bike. People who have loved their short travel bikes and long rides for years and years and have recently shown an interest into the enduro bandwagon. Its seems like a good choice rather than diving into the deepend of a proper 150mm trail bomber.
  13. I like that too. I wish more series would do this instead of try an squeeze all they can from a show based on ratings. The writing suffers especially when they try and build on something that was never intended as part of the original plot. We've seen it happen too many times. But hey, thats show business. Just started Mr Robot. Its good, very good.
  14. I don't think I can get myself to do this. I'd rather preserve the memory of the original. I worry that revisiting series like that will just ruin it for me. What seemed eerie back then might just become somber and mundane in a contemporary context. I've revisited several series and while Magnum PI, Miami Vice, McGuyver, Airwolf and The A-Team are drenched in cheese. Its the kind of series you enjoy again because of its glorious, glorius cheese. X-files? No man that's sacred. I made the same mistake watching Thundercats again. Pfft, what do these kids know about animated series. I'll show them the best there ever was. Till I watched it again. It was horrible. Ruined my fond childhood memories of that show. Speaking of wardrobe. We rebooted Seinfeld early this year and watch it occasionally when the mood strikes for something lighthearted. Already up to season 4. You could watch that show 50 years from now and it will still be brilliant
  15. Dakine Ridge AM shorts. Fits lekker, side waist adjustments, solid construction but not heavy like a downhill shorts. Got it at half price from swindle.co.za online sale. Paid just over 700. Probably 2014 stock. I must say i'm very happy i took a chance on these instead of buying the fox ranger or the indola. its light but not too thin. love the fabric, the inners are a super breathable and soft fabric which reminds me of the stuff assos uses. they could have gone a little easier on the padding though.

  17. I think everything is getting fatter and stiffer not just the gravity stuff. Its not just a requirement in uber long forks anymore because they take bigger hits. Stiffness is something that every rider can benefit from. Having said that I think they offer the wide range of travel in the yari because, well.. they can. The older stuff like revelation and sektor were longer travel forks with the same noodly pipes as the shorter reba's and stuff. Totem and domains was where the beef was at because well yea they were longer so they needed it. At least that's how it was. Its just a newer, broader standard. Which I think makes more sense going forward.

But must have been stashed for over a year. Got it from my folks in Oz for an experiment that just never materialized (don't ask) Maybe it can be of use to someone. I like coffee beans and other stuff too

  22. 'Being a cross-country bike where speed and efficiency matter, Procaliber SL gets Smart Wheel Size for the fastest wheel that fits. Larger sizes from 17.5 and up get 29” wheels while the 15.5 gets more proportional 27.5” wheels.' Why did it take so long for common sense to prevail?
