  1. Hey guys and gals, some feedback on this would be appreciated. Ive been riding with a free promo pair of sunglasses (the type you'd pay R50 for), and im getting fed up with them always fogging up!! Other than that I must admit that they are adequate. So im looking for a pair of glasses that can be used in all conditions, early morning, afternoon, and cant fog up. I must mention that im looking to spend less than R2000. So far the following have been considered. 1. Oakley radars with some type of an orange lens 2. Seen a set of Darc's at sportmans warehouse with 5 different lens types 3. Have'nt really looked at rudy projects what you guys think???
  2. He is the enforcer, its his job I agree with you. But with all due respect, that was obvious and damn dangerous at that. Bakkies pushes and shoves and maybe gets a fist in here and there, which generally go undeteced. This was OBVIOUS. If an SA player did that RED CARD and a 6 week ban, just like Schalk.
  3. Not sure if anyone has visited superrugby.co.za yet, but Ive just read that Gitaue got off scot free for that barbaric attack on Fourie du Preez during Saturdays match. I cannot believe the blatent and obvious one sidedness to this whole citation thing. I mean Schalk got 6 weeks for what was eye gouging in the end. Giteau jumped at Fourie in what was a blatant attempt at nothing other a shoulder barge, decapitation effort. But now we will get a fine for the white armbands they wore when Bakkies got his two week ban. How fitting. There is just no objectivity with these blokes. ArgHHHHHHHHHHH so irritatiing. The good news is that we will definately win this Tri Nations, with or without that useles thing called a citation commitee. Am i the only one with the point of view????

    Weather Q&A

So heres my geography question for any weather fundies out there. Whilst riding yesterday, my riding partner said that when the sun comes out its going to drop a few degrees for a while, and then it will get better. I thought he was smoking his socks coz how can it get cooler when the sun comes out right???? Wrong, I went from a semi defrosted state to completely numb and frozen (again). Later that day I spoke to a friend of mine who is a runner and he said that its 100% true, but he could'nt give me answer. Just for the record the was no cloud cover at all when it was dark. Anyone know the answer??

  10. thanks droo, noisier than the std shimano ones?? do they require extra TLC? I normally lube the current ones when i was the bike on ave once a week. that gonna suffice?
  11. Will the jockey wheels wear the chain out faster??
  12. Hi All, Im considering getting some of that KCNC stuff for my MTB steed. In paticular skewers, jockey wheels and a seat clamp. Is there any added benefit to the parts (Besides the possible 2 grams of weight) or is it all just bling??? Also is there anyone who had bad experiences with any of the components?? Feel free to mention anything u think id like to know. Cheers

  16. agreed, JHB is a big city. To be more specific im refering to the spruit, northern farm and surrounding areas. Club rides aside, anyone who rides those areas regularly with some other guys/girls that I could hook up with??? Saturday mornings??
  17. Hey all, My cycling partner got taken out by a motorist on Sunday, and hes out of action for the rest of the year. This primarily sucks for him, but as a result I lost my riding partner!! Anyways, I want to find out if there are any group rides that I could join up with in the JHB area on a Sat morning, nice and early for a 2 - 2.5 hour ride. I forgot to mention im a MTB'er. Thanks!!
  18. Hey all, DanielXT, my riding partner got knocked off his road bike this morning at the traffic circle by the mcdonalds near louis botha ave in jhb. The car jumped the traffic circle at 80kmh and smashed right into him. Hes in ICU now with several broken bones and a head injury. I just went to see him and hes 100% aware and knew exactly what was going on. Docs are waiting for the head injury to clear up before they start with the broken bones. Heres wishing him a speedy recovery, and to all of us out there, lets just be extra carefull. Cheers
  19. I was riding an avalanche 3 disc before i upgraded to my new bike. I still actually have it if you looking for something 2nd hand. I loved the avalanche. The only reason i never kept it as an upgrade is because it never had hydraulic brakes and by the time everything would have been said and done with an upgrade, i could have bought a new bike. So thats what i did:) The GT is a rock solid frame, some would say a touch too rock solid as it can be a bit bumpy. But looking at the specs id go for the GT, its a beteer base to start off from if/when u upgrade. Let me know if u keen on my old bike!
  20. Did the pilots survive?? That looks pretty intense!!
  21. No economic crisis for you my friend!! I like the idea of a 30k mtb a 30k road and 10k for the Mrs Seriously Im a big fan of enjoying your cash, rather than looking at a swelling bank account. Gees but 70k is a fortune. My 10c, if you determined to pick up a bike for 70k the Trek is gorgeous. Try get the same colour as Contodor!!
  22. Hey Desert Bob, I ride with a mate religiously on Sat mornings at about 6am. We ride for +-2.5hrs at a pretty steady pace which obviously depends on the terrain. We ride places like the spruit, northern farms, linksfield ridge. You more than welcome to come along.
  23. Just bought a pair of first ascent yesterday for R800. They feel pretty comfy. Will let you know how they ride!! Astana hows the new Merida??
  24. Joek r u interested in a gt avalanche 3 disc?? R3500??
  25. phillip maree, I agree with u 100% on that saddle. I personally think its a disgrace. I mean you paying good money for the bike, but that saddle is basically a piece of plastic with a cloth covering. I put a specialized on and so far so good. Cant understand how they can manufacture such k@k
