  1. I rode my 5th consecutive 947 on Sunday. The organization at the start and finish gets better every year. The electronic boards made loading into the start pens really easy and painless. There will always be an idiot who tries to mess up the system, but we all got into our bunches and out on the ride with no hassle. Well done to the organisers. Can't wait to be there again next year. (Now, if only my legs were up to the standard of organization...)
  2. Now...
  3. This is the best Chamois Cream bar none. That is all...
  4. It's an easy roll down William Nicol - it shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes. You'll have the great vibe of riding while being surrounded by cyclists in their cars.
  5. Kudos to Gerald and the team for a great event. Many thanks to all involved.
  6. Pieter was fine. A bit of skin scraped off his elbow, but able to get up and ride to the finish. His biggest complaints was that he lost the bunch.
  7. I popped into Cycle Lab to collect my race number this morning. Absolutely painless. Well done Gerald and your team.
  8. Sorry, Gerald. I'm sure it's been answered somewhere in here. Can we do late entries on Thursday @ Cycle Lab?
  9. My new Ultravox TI was delievered on Monday. I made my wife very happy by leaving her alone and riding 110 km with my mates on Woman's Day. What a fantastic purchase I have made. Every single step of the interaction with Charles at Swift was world-class. I've ended up with a perfectly fitted dream-machine thanks to their open and friendly attitude. The frame is truly magnificent. Stiff where it needs to be without being harsh. And the matte black finish generated lots of "oohs and aahs" from riders who spent twice as much on their bikes. The complete Ritchey finishing kit just adds to the look of class. And, what hasn't already been said about the 11 speed Ultegra Di2? Add that to my Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels, and I have a bike that made me smile for 4 solid hours and will probably continue to do so for years to come. Plus, the value for money aspect is just phenomenal. As a loyal supporter of my LBS, I thought I'd never be able to match the value, advice and service of my local. Boy, did Swift change my perception. Thanks to everyone at Swift Carbon. I am your most loyal, new brand ambassador and I look forward to seeing lots more of these amazing bikes on the road.
  10. I've just had my first ride on my new Ultravox TI. What an amazing ride. Fast, stable, responsive and comfortable. Oh, and really pretty as well. Pics to follow.
  11. And the entire city of Cape Town embraces the event, while Jo'burgers bitch about not being able to go shopping via their usual route...
  12. I'm testing one out next week. Can't wait!!
  13. We started with 11. We finished with 11. So pleased that we rode for each other!!! The wind threatened to rip our legs off but we stuck together. A truly epic ride, and mostly well executed by the Organisers. We are planning our 2017 race already!! Now to turn those legs to the East and prepare for Jock...
  14. Team SaleWine/Vitalab - 11 boys and 1 very lucky girl. Looking for 7 hours... PPA must be disappointed if they only 60 70 teams!!
  15. Thanks for the help guys. Did a toe-in on the pads and cleaned pads and rims with surgical spirits. (for some unknown reason, it's impossible to find meths...) My black Bianchi was back to looking and sounding just like a stealth bomber. No one saw (or heard) me coming as smashed my previous best on Emperors yesterday!!
  16. I've found someone who has a digital printer. If I can get hold of one of these cleats, I may be able to get some made.
  17. Find someone who has a digital printer. Shouldn't be hard to produce.
  18. I am a committed follower of The Rules. For those that don't know what Puncheur is talking about... http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/
  19. No, they are Aluminium with a black braking surface. Here's the link if you're interested. http://www.fulcrumwheels.com/en/wheels/road-bike-wheels/racing-zero-nite
  20. Thanks, will try this.
  21. The problem is that now my mates know how scared I am because I brake so much... These start to squeal as soon as they start to touch the rim.
  22. So, I have a pair of Fulcrum Racing Zero Nite wheels that I've been riding since December. Fantastic wheels. However, I have had constant issues with noisy brakes. I have replaced the brake pads which had worn down very quickly with the recommended Blue Campagnolo pads. The brake pads squeal like a Vuvuzela as soon as they start to grip. I have cleaned and adjusted them multiple times, but to no avail. Please help!!!
  23. Team SaleWine.co.za entered and accommodation sorted. Just need to design our shirts and get training!!
  24. In December I finished my Hansom rebuild. The rebuild was quicker than learning how to upload the photos.
  25. I marshaled a Cycle Lab group on Saturday. When riding on the front, I warned slower riders that a large group was coming past. There were around 30 of us in the group and often novice riders get scared when such large group comes past. Why don't you come and ride with us one Saturday morning? We cater for all speeds from novice to racing snakes. The marshals work very hard to keep the groups organised and safe. Sure, there are idiots sometimes, but by and large we ride a disciplined and friendly bunch and I have never experienced the kind of aggression the OP is talking about.
