  1. I had a setup done on my Road Bike @ Cyclefit around 6 weeks ago. It was brilliant and I am ecstatic with the results. I took the measurements and copied them onto my spinning bike and all feels good. Do I take the same measurements and copy them onto my 29'er MTB? Or are they completely different? Is there a ratio used to translate them? Or do I just stop being cheap and get Cyclefit to do the job?
  2. Cycle Fit is absolutely brilliant.
  3. Is wine a banned substance? If it is, I might need to crash on day 17 to avoid the drug test when I stand on the podium in Paris (or Parys)
  4. Morning guys, I'm involved in an online wine retailer - www.SaleWine.co.za we want to sponsor a mixed case of 6 bottles of wine as a prize.
  5. 1. Chris Froome 2. Marcel Kittel 3. Alberto Contador 4. Tony Martin 5. Peter Sagan 6. Andre Greipel 7. Pierre Rolland 8. Matt Goss 9. Mark Cavendish
  6. I joined Cycle Lab in February, just before Argus. I've found it much easier to get in a long ride when I know I have to be at Fourways at 7.00 on a Saturday morning. I feel much safer riding with a group and like the security of a backup vehicle. If you try and ride with a group that's too fast, you will get dropped - it would be dumb to expect anything else. If you're riding in the correct group, you'll get supported by the marshals, but they won't drag you back to the group if they can see that you're put of your depth. Socially, the groups are like elsewhere in life.. say "Hello" and you'll start a conversation. Stare straight ahead and ignore your fellow cyclist - you might as well ride on your own. Give it a bash. If nothing else the coffee afterwards is great!!
  7. Sacrilegious!!
  8. All bits are 10 speed, so I should be good to go.
  9. I ride a Bianchi that came equipped with Campagnola Veloce levers, front and rear deraileur and fsa cranks. Via the good people on the hub, I've picked up Campagnola Record cranks, derailleurs, levers and a chain. My question: Do I need to buy a Record cassette when I fit the other Record bits, or will the Veloce one do the job?
  10. Fantastic. Is it generally available at my LBS or will it need to be specially ordered?
  11. I bought a Campagnola front deraileur for my Bianchi and discovered that it is braze on, not the clamp on that my Bianchi currently has. Is there a modification/solution to solve this issue?
  12. For a great insight into the real world of cycling, try Domestique by Charlie Wegelius. None of the "let's blame Armstrong" for everything that is wrong on the planet. Just a real account of how tough it is to be a pro cyclist, with none of the moralizing.
  13. Could't agree more. Had my fitting done yesterday @ Cycle Fit. Can't wait to do a long ride tomorrow.
  14. If it's the CentroStrada it's a brilliant bike. It's probably a 2012 model as they were discontinued last year. I picked up a new one last year for around 17k. Just upgraded the wheels and I'm smiling. So, anything under 15k depending on condition is a decent deal. Get it for close to 10k and you should go to jail
  15. I live and work on opposite sides of Sandton About 16 km apart. I would love to commute on my bike. However, watching the way that idiots drive (while in the relative safety of my car), I'd be dead within days. I'm not scared of dyeing, I just don't want to die after being hit by some idea who can't live without TWITter for 30 seconds between robots!!
  16. So how tough is it really? If you relate it to an Argus or 94.7. Is it like the step up from a marathon to Comrades?
  17. I want a spot on a team. So I guess I'll just chill for now and keep my eyes open Thanks for the feedback guys.
  18. Thanks for that info on when entries open. What is the process thereafter? Do I try and contact a team, or do they work through the list and select members based on target times? Is it difficult to get an entry?
  19. Hi Guys, How does one go about getting an entry into a team for the Coronation DC 2014. I've filled in my details on the site, but no feedback. Am I missing something?
  20. Been happily riding my Momsen for nearly 2 years - lots of smiley miles done!!
  21. How do you connect to the cranks? Is it riveted?
  22. BCD???
  23. Forgive the dumb question- compact is 50/34 and standard is 53/39?Does R 2,500 for a new 53/39 as quoted by LBS for FSA cranks sound correct?
  24. Does changing the cranks and chain rings require a whole new BB or does it just slot straight in?I would either stay with FSA as per original spec, or change to Campy. Any input?
  25. HTFU it shall be, then.
