  1. And more rabbit holes, or is that arseholes
  2. Rabbit holes led me to this. Drugs were stronger back then
  3. I don’t profess to have a solution but I have seen this scenario played out numerous times on the hub. Everyone moans and everyone laments. But very little lobbying ( none) is done because that takes work and effort. if you seriously want to prevent future incidences , get out there and lobby politicians, cycling organisations, target bike shops ,legal system, schools etc etc. pissing vinegar and acid on the hub ain’t going to fix a damn thing.

Rumour has it he will go to tech 3 team in 2027. I just can’t see Steiner employing him but who knows how much money Brad brings with him. Not sure WSBK would be his choice, maybe stateside is the answer. but ,we still have to get through 2026. And he has a good 8 or 9 months before that decision is made I reckon.
  5. I like the DL800. Great looking bikes and will do what you need it to do. it’s not a KTM off road and neither is the transalp or Vstrom650. I had the 2002 DL1000. Vin was 33rd one made. It was brought out to ZA for the launch. Bought it from Arrie Strauss ( if I remember name right.) got a great deal on it cos Suzuki was keen to get these out and Simon arranged a sweet deal. it was the GS competitor really. Had a few problems with the clutch basket but what a stonking bike. We did trips all over sub Saharan Africa and it held its own. But it was heavy and on the Lekker sand of Mozambique I struggled. Ran like a Swiss clock. Great fuel consumption too which is important in some locations.

  7. My opinion is to cut your losses and be shot of it. think this bike gonna give you heartache further down the line.

  12. 🤣. Proudly a pure blood. it was an outlet for the soul.
  13. Not forgetting the Covid discussion. Ppl lost their rational minds then. Long long time ago now.
  14. Good luck. this dudes life sounds like one of them country songs…..you picked a fine time to leave me wynand.
  15. By the way, i also keep an eye out on the classic car market here. It’s taken some big knocks lately for 2 reasons. One, the cars were over valued in previous years and secondly the guys who would restore them or want to own them are all passing on. A double whammy. still would like to get my hands on a super boss though but have to be realistic that it’s unlikely to happen. Better off buying a modern mustang.
  16. You get something here called a Q plate for bikes of unknown origin. It’s more expensive to insure and it’s not ulez free irrespective of age. ECU changes here you probably could get through MOT and pipes will depend on the loudness and mood of the tester. Find a nice biker tester or put a db killer pipe on for the MOT only. as to prices, that ship sailed a long time ago. It’s something I looked at doing when I moved here as a side hustle. Could have made some money but these days it’s a thin market unless you bring a whole container and you know ppl who know ppl. Plus the ZA biker now has a keen sense of pricing so you not going to pick up a pristine katana for 50 grand zar. Unless you have a pristine gamma 500, RD500, NR750 or similar it’s not worth it as you say. (edit. Not the nc750 but the NR750. )
  17. Ship it here, I promise to not cut it at all. And I will ride it to all the famous biker hangouts and take pictures and send to you. The bike will have a good life and will be looked at with awe and admiration as they are seldom seen here. winner winner.
  18. Hairy, I negotiate contracts for a living. Sometimes I am successful at this and sometimes I am less successful at this. my opinion here and nothing more. I reckon you are approaching this from the wrong position. That being the cap in hand position. Why this should be I cannot say but I reckon it’s time to change this approach. You are the customer , you are the one being screwed over here you should be wayyyyyy more demanding. and I mean this is a nice way.
  19. My opinion, and I stress it is that and it’s worth what you paid for it, is that the bike is worth very little money. Like hundreds not even thousands. Keep it for sentimental value or donate it to someone that needs a bike to commute etc.
  20. Does it come with ketchup?
  21. Carrick taken some big scalps.
  22. While at Rykas yesterday saw this wee beast. GS11 motor. All round air suspension. Thousands of pounds in this jammy
  23. Saw a couple of CFmoto 450s yesterday at Rykas. One was brand new the ou had picked it up that morning. Must say they look impressive. Can’t comment on longevity or reliability but the are an interesting proposition. 5700 quid here. https://www.visordown.com/reviews/cfmoto-450mt-review-seriously-good-value-chinese-adv-ridden
