  1. I reckon you going to have to spend THOUSANDS to get R500 put in via spending. I also have enough in there for points but I am not putting R500 in and not getting points. I am not sure why they want us to deposit R500 in there, It does seem very pointless if we just going to use it again. Not sure how they or we are benefitting from this change.
  2. WOW that is a lekker shed. What was it used for before you got it? It is very tall. Almost looks like you can keep a small light aircraft in there.
  3. I assume we can enter both the events? If we can only enter 1 then I am going to do the fulgaz option.
  4. 40% discount on multiply site for private club. Definitely seems like a good deal. He has ordered it already. Should arrive next week sometime. I will probably send you a message about Garmin pay sometime as you seem to know a bit about it.
  5. Ja it's over R4k from Garmin. 40% discount and he has plenty money in his multiply money card so it's win win.
  6. Thanks man. R2579.40 on multiply. He is ordering it now.
  7. LOL I hear you. My toppie wants one and currently has a vivoactive 3. It seems to tick all his boxes but he was just wanting to know if other users were happy.
  8. Your GF happy with the Venue SQ?
  9. Still happy? My toppie wants to pull the trigger on the Venue SQ. He is retiring his vivoactive 3.
  10. So after only getting level 4 in December, My wife knuckled under and upped her exercise over December and January. She went this morning and got level 5. She only lost 800gr but her overall fitness and strength was a lot better. Phew I am glad because I already had to pay a bit more premium on her stuff last month.
  11. WHAAAAAT. Flip man.
  12. Me too. Never knew that. I am sure i have a few JIS bits. But I think I know why it's not very common. "pass me the JIS please" "Can I borrow you JIS?"

  14. Sorry for the foul language.
  15. I fitted ceramic bearings(BB, hubs and jockey wheels) to my road bike and TBH I can't feel a difference while riding. BUT there is a difference when you just spin the crank or wheels. They are also meant to stay smoother for longer.
  16. CELEBRATE CYCLING IN MARCH WITH THE CAPE TOWN CYCLE TOUR Pedal 109km in March in the 109-for-109 Charity Challenge or the official Virtual Cape Town Cycle Tour to stand the chance to win prizes from Garmin, Tacx, Powerade, Thule and Oakley. (Cape Town, 4 February 2021) There is absolutely no need for FOMO – why not join the Cape Town Cycle Tour to celebrate the traditional cycling month of March by entering the official Virtual Cape Town Cycle Tour, presented by Powerade and Wesgro, or the Cape Town Cycle Tour 109-for-109 Charity Challenge. Organisers of the Cape Town Cycle Tour announced, on 4 February, that despite the postponement of the March 2021 event, due to Covid restrictions, organisers would be offering two new initiatives - the Virtual Cape Town Cycle Tour via the online platform FulGaz Virtual Cycling, and the Cape Town Cycle Tour 109-for-109 Charity Challenge. Both events will focus around the traditional 109km of the Cape Town Cycle Tour and registered riders stand to win thousands of Rands in prizes from Garmin, Tacx, Powerade, Thule and Oakley, while also receiving acknowledgement for their efforts with a virtual medal and virtual certificate of completion and a listing on the event website. Cycling enthusiasts are reminded that the Cape Town Cycle Tour normally generates funds for its two beneficiaries, PPA (the Pedal Power Association) and the Rotary Club of Claremont. They in turn support a multitude of worthy charitable causes and cycling related initiatives. Together we can all make a difference! To be part of the action use the hashtag #cycletour109 on all your social media posts to stand a chance of winning weekly prizes. Challenge No 1: The Cape Town Cycle Tour 109-for-109 Charity Challenge To take part simply enter online from Monday, 8 February at www.capetowncycletour.com and ride 109km or more during the month of March ANYWHERE ANYTIME. We will use Strava to verify all qualifying rides completed. Each participant will get a virtual medal on completion of the challenge, while also and perhaps most importantly, helping raise funds for the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust. You can get creative and set up fun ways to complete the distance… Like the most elevation in 109km, anyone? Or the greatest number of 109km rides in the month of March? Or simply set yourself the goal of riding the race distance. Entry donations for the Cape Town Cycle Tour 109-for-109 Charity Challenge cost R109. Be part of the fun and help us to track your antics by using the hashtag #cycletour109 on your social media. Challenge No 2: The official Virtual Cape Town Cycle Tour, presented by Powerade and Wesgro The Virtual Cape Town Cycle Tour, will utilize the FulGaz Virtual Cycling platform, and will take place between March 8-14. The race will be divided into three stages to make up the traditional 109km route. Filmed on the actual route from a bicycle it is the ideal way to experience the beauty of the Cape Peninsula from the comfort of your own home! Riders can complete each stage as many times as they wish, at any time within the race window and leaderboards will be regularly updated. Entry donations for the event start at R200 and include a free one-month subscription to the brilliant Fulgaz Virtual Cycling (Fulgaz.com) virtual platform. Riders can enter from anywhere in the world – and also have the option to donate a little more than the minimum entry donation. Entries for this virtual challenge open on 15 February at www.capetowncycletour.com. “While the pandemic continues to affect the lives of so many, we believe that staying healthy, having a goal and challenging yourself safely is more critical than ever,” said Cape Town Cycle Tour director, David Bellairs. “Both our Virtual event and the Charity Challenge offer an opportunity to stay motivated while also raising money for the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust. It’s time to pay it forward!” For more information, please visit www.capetowncycletour.com. Yours in cycling. The Cape Town Cycle Tour Team
  17. Ja it is. We were wondering why. The big blade isn't like that, so not sure what's up. Dual-sided power meter, um yeah those cost more than what my employer manages to scrap together to pay me each month. From all his triathlons and TT riding he has a pretty smooth action. It is a sugino brand, not sure on their quality. He replaced the whole crank with a shimano because the pcd of that small ring is different to shimano rings and he has plenty of them. So lets see how the next one wears.
  18. Only used indoors, never raced. Matched chain thrown in for free.
  19. My toppie retired in August 2019. He has always been an active person with an addiction to exercise. When the gyms closed for lockdown he turned the little granny flat I lived in at their house into a home gym. He built a bike to permanently stay on his IDT with spares he had lying around. He sends me this pick the other day of the small blade off that bike. It wasn't new when he fitted it but it was still in good condition. He just said to me "many many hours".
  20. To Our Loyal Dis-Chem Ride for Sight Cyclists, We hope that you are safe and well during this terrible pandemic. We would love to be giving you good news about the 2021 event but sadly we cannot. Due to the continuing restrictions we had hoped to stage the Ride at the end of April, however we have now taken the painful decision to cancel the 2021 event. We know that besides participating in our event, cycling to restore the gift of sight is also a huge factor in your continued support of the event. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions we have had to cancel the ride and other special events, leading to a huge decline in our income. We are now using reserves to pay our staff and we have had to reduce our 2021 grant to the Retinal Research Project at UCT to a quarter of their requirement. If you would like to assist us, at no cost to you, please nominate Retina South Africa as a beneficiary on www.myschool.co.za<http://www.myschool.co.za> Every time you shop at Woolies, Engen, Waltons and various other outlets they will make a donation to us. If you are able to, please will you take a ticket in our Circle of Light Competition. One ticket costs R250.00 and you stand a chance of winning R500 per month, for the next 12 months. (This Charity Fundraiser has been approved by Lotto - Lotto Scheme No. 00187/17.) If you would like to make a tax deductible donation (R250.00 or more) to Retina South Africa, please indicate this on an email and send together with the POP to headoffice@retinasa.org.za. Below please find our banking details: Name of Account - Retina South Africa Name of Bank - Standard Bank Branch - Bedford Gardens Branch Code - 018305 Account No - 020312164. Reference your name and mobile number. There is so much progress in research and clinical trials that the hope of a sighted future for thousands of young South Africans affected by retinal vision loss is bright indeed. Thank you for continuing this special journey with us. Keep cycling, keep safe and see you in 2022. With best wishes from the Dis-Chem Ride for Sight team.
  21. This awesome. How much? How do I order some from you?
  22. I can't really wear my fiziks for more than 2 hours, my toes get sore. They are really nice shoes but still prefer my older model S-WORKS.
  23. From time to time these subjects come up on the radio and people call in and talk about their experiences. There seems to be a lot more people out there that believe in this stuff than I thought. I don't but they probably think riding a bicycle for hours on end is weird. The world would be very boring if we were all the same.
