  1. The winter cycling jackets and bib longs from ftech (asg) are unbelievable. Great quality and you can then layer minimally underneath for the really cold mornings. Neoprene full length gloves and booties, with beanie and buff do the trick for me.
  2. Signed up for the 70, it's done. Can't be worse than the first day of the Berg & Bush last year?!
  3. Damn you all, looks like I'll be doing the 70.
  4. would "passing left" / "passing right" work for runners?
  5. uncertain between the marathon and half marathon. not sure i have trained enough for the marathon and it will also be my first time at hakahana. maybe i should just settle on the half as a first-timer to hakahana. did a couple of blue loops at thaba this weekend and had to walk 1 or 2 technical parts.
  6. Thanks all, so a spacer it is.
  7. Wonder if anyone can help? Will these Stans (http://www.cyclesonline.co.za/stans-ztr-arch-ex-29er-wheelset/) fit on a 2014 Speshy Epic? The only reason I ask is because the current rear hub has a 142+ spacing (see http://www.specialized.com/es/en/bikes/mountain/epic/14epicepicfsrelitecarbon#specs)
  8. My Epic also doesn't have indicators. You get used to it pretty quickly.
  9. Signed up for the 60. Good way to start my conditioning for longer rides.
  10. I would have earned 38 beers on Sunday... what a great idea!
  11. Great idea. So irritating having to jump to 10 different sites trying to plan a race diary.
  12. Thank you spruit fairies... we are eternally grateful for all your efforts. Happy to supply some beers if that makes the job go easier.
  13. There is a newish trail called the Hero Adventure Trail. Check our heia.co.za where the trail is hosted. Fun, well organised and you can ride it on your own if you want. We rode it for the first time this weekend and didn't get last at all. It's all on private land so now issues with safety.
  14. Just quoting the article: "The answer, according to SRAM, is that 150mm hubs actually measure 157mm."
  15. But does the Camber come with a free bike washer?
  16. Did the same with the Epic, and I was only putting in 70%.
  17. They say the 150 is actually 158 and resulted in an adjustment to the Q-something or other. The 148 plus won't be proprietary but open to the whole industry. Still sounds like a gimmick to me.
  18. Would that be similar to the speshy 148 plus?
  19. Awesome vid!
  20. Weight weenie...
  21. It used to be the other way around?! Who knows? all I do know is that I am loving the Epic.
  22. My mate was on a Stumpy. The Epic murdered the stumpy on climbs and flats, but he made back some time on the downhills.
  23. Rode the yellow with a mate. Pretty fun track and a lot more tight stuff than I expected. There are lots of sharp little drops, followed by a tight turn and steep attacking slopes. You need to concentrate and make sure you hit the turns at the bottom in the right gear to get up the slopes. Will definitely be back to attack the yellow route harder and then move onto the red.
