  1. They do seem to have upped their game of late - but of the 5 parcels they have delivered to me this year my last experience was by far the best, the rest were woeful. They also charge a R200 admin fee for clearing - that just about doubles the costs CRC quotes on the order. Most other couriers charge admin fees less than R50 or absorb this costs - this grates me the most in that they charge the most for the worst admin and service??
  2. correct - Zipp also has this option available with their BB30 cranks, but it also has a longer axle which requires spacers when used with a regular BB30 bearings.
  3. does anyone know what brand this is? saw one at my LBS - recognized the brand but cant recall it now? It was R900 at my LBS - so will gladly pay R600 if I can find it in JHB at that price.
  4. i just had mine replaced under warrantee - no questions asked. only issue is that I bought it in the US - so I had to ship it back there at my own cost R1700 later... The technician I was corresponding with said the new 2013 units are working fine - can anyone comment on this? mine is still brand new, i have not fitted the warrentee unit to my bike yet, considering putting on e-bay and getting it sold?
  5. Is there any MTB crankset available at a similar price point?
  6. Any update on Jan's condition?
  7. Is Richard based in JHB?
  8. What do they charge for a respray?
  9. I have used them for training and racing for the past year without any issues.
  10. In my opinion they are anthing but 'crap' - I ride one and have ridden just about every frame out there over the years, I think they are unbelivable frames. The pro's who I have chatted too who ride them also agree, so I am sure there must be some other reason for the sales and not that they are bad frames....
  11. Hi Kiwi Any news on the On-One 29er carbons? when they arriving?

    29er shock

The RS Reba is a great product, but in my view (and experience) you cant beat a Fox. Either the RL or RLC - both have brilliant damping and are reliable as ever. I have a F29RL with the 15mm thru axel - brilliant all round!
  13. I ordered my Edge 500 on Friday at about 15:00 from bikeinn.com - recieved it yesterday at lunch time. Great service, and excellent shipping times - recommended site.
  14. Very interested to find out how you rate the Geax Barro Race 29er tyres. They are nice and light, but i was a bit concerned about their puncture resistance?
  15. I also saw a Buzz Rack at Crater Cruise on the weekend - I've had almost every model of Thule and am quite a fan, but the Buzz Rack actualy looked like a better design to my Thule 943. The 943 really is small for 3 MTB's - only really carries 2 cumfortably (can squeeze 3 in, but not easy). The Buzz Rack was a bit bigger and looked like it could accomodated the 3 bikes much better. The cross-bar attachment system also looked better as it is in the middle of the rack (and customizable) as opposed to right against the boot of the car. Looks like a great product - I would be interested to get reviews from owners of these products.
  16. That's interesting.... for less technical rides, it would be good to get a set of cyclocross tyres with good grip (more aggressive cyclocross tyres) and run them on 29er wheels with a standard 26er frame/shock....
  17. The one measurement is in millimeters (28 or 32) and the other in inches (1.3 or 1.5) - both are measurements of the width of the tyre. Also look at the Cyclocross tyres - they also fit 29er wheels.
  18. Sounds to me like a potential problem with the speed sensor? If the oproblem persists - I have spare 725x (just had the battery replaced by Polar last week) which I'm not using. I will let it go for R1200 (No chest strap, using with my other HRM)
  19. The best product to use it Plyobond - it's a contact adhesive that most track riders use exclusively and is available in any hardware store. Much stronger than regular tubbie glue, and I can tell you the extra strength is warranted - not fun rolling a tubbie....
  20. forgot the spec on the pedals - If it's not clear in the pic, they are Eegg Beater 4ti
  21. Component breakdown as requested: Frame: Scott Spark Rear Shock: Dt Swiss XR Carbon (changed origional because could not fit a bottle in on the small frame). Running tubeless with about 50ml Schwalbe blue sealant in each Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Flow Carbon Rails (120g) Seatpost: Ritchey WCS Carbom Stem: KCNC Scandium (99g) as opposed to the Fly Ride stem on the bike in the pic (137g) Bars: KCNC Scandium Grips: Scott Foam (18g for the pair, as opposed to the 100g pair on the bike in the pic) Bar Ends: KCNC Skewers : KCNC
  22. Decided to try and buld up my Spark to under 10kg's - and got a bit carried away. Made a few additional tweaks today and got it just sub 9kg's (foam grips, lighter stem)...

    New 29er

  24. If you looking to build up a lightweight wheelset, I can highly recomend the ZTR Crest 29er rims. I also have the On-one 29er with XTR and ZTR Crest rims on Hope front and A2Z rear hub. Nice and light (about 10,5kgs) and the ligher rims make the bike feel much faster.....
  25. Agreed - definately one of the best hubs on the market currently(in my opinion anyway). Reliable and light - not cheap though.....
