What is great from the answers is that it is obvious that we are climbing the international ladder from various angles and that it should open up more opportunities for SA riders in the future! Konica in States and Neotel in the East making a definite statement. Hunter and John-Lee in TDF! Torino 6-day track we were there! A Tortius in women"s Giro at the moment. Is this the start of greater things to come??...!!

Congrats !!!Saw her interviews on TV news (2 stations),one in Afrikaans and one in English.Great ambassador for the sport and fluent in both languages! Would the mixing with the men not be lessened it the ladies bunch had to start 2 mins behind the elites?(Giro guys)That would give them a 13 min buffer before the racing tandems and it would be easy to control a "no tandem interference" rule.I also doubt if any of the Vets or other bunches would catch them before the finish. The men in the ladies bunch does bring a different dynamic to their race..

Stage will be less than 150km once the incorrect info has been sorted out......??!BIG difference from 180.....

I have just had a look at the stage 2 schedule of today's stage on the official website www.girodelcapo.co.za. According to this schedule the stage will not finish where it started but will continue down Adderley road for a fourth time,turn Right at end of Adderley road,get to the T junction at the Silo's(not mentioned,perhaps just donner straight on into the field....),I assume turn right there towards Durbanville,past the Fisantekraal intersection on your right and then finish where the 99'er finished. This affects the distance and finishing time..... The schedule is obviously wrong. Is the stage today therefore 160 and not 180 as per schedule and the estimated finishing time approx half an hour earlier as advertised???? (Must say the way BWorld is riding they can do the extra odd 20ks and still kickass..)
