Had lunch at Avontuur wine farm to carboload for mtb ride tomorrow.Cycle via Blaauwklippen/Eden via Stellenbosch sportsfields to Jonkershoek to watch some racing.Then back to braai and watch rugby.Sunday recovery ride along coast via steenbrasrivermouth,Kogelbay to RooiEls,coke and smoke and back again. Life's a bitch.

Piepoli very impressive pacing the whole bunch off his wheel on first climb,except for top 5.Rico not bad either and if he can stay with Piepoli and Simoni next time they will be in a good position to force the hand of the other teams. How did you like Van Huffel's fall?He can be glad it was on the mountain side and not the cliff side!! Brilliant riding by JL!!!!! You can be sure Cox rode his backside off to assist JL.His website also refers to this.To state that JL put 26 or so minutes into Cox misses the point of teamwork. Great riding by the team and the fact that a SA boytjie could assist another one in achieving this excellent result!

Excellent if you read the race report and see that it was only the strongest who survived the constant attacking as well as the climbs towards the end of the race!!!! The whole team will now have to work for him,even though 2 of their riders DNF in stage 1. What a ride by him.My guess is he will be picked up quickly by a PT team.Also no.1 in young rider classification.

I vote for Hunter as he can sit in a sprint and "come close to winning".. AND he is from SA..

Read in Die Burger this morning that both Sauser and DG are frustrated with their "slow" partners that they have decided to combine as an unofficial team to show the big guns how its done!! They will not feature on the official results but will unofficially try to win a stage or two. Reading between the lines it seems as if both are far too strong for their partners and are convinced they can finish in the top echelon. Will be interesting to see how they do unofficially and it seems DG has adapted well to the mtb. Watch the results of today's stage!!(unofficial of course) Sentiments of some of the other teams do not seem to be too positive towards this move.

In post race interview he mentioned that he won the Argus in Jo'burg last week.Maybe he is to shy to mention that Argus was in Cape Town?! Great win from him,especially defending yellow jersey in the TT.
