  1. https://www.printables.com/model/886111-4iiii-precision-powermeter-battery-cover Is it this one? Can print one for you if you're not sorted yet.
  2. after a few years riding 1x on Gravel and MTB, im considering a return to 2x: 1 - Efficiency: 1x drivetrains are typically less efficient than 2x drivetrains because the chain runs at more extreme angles, higher speeds, and higher tensions. 2 - Gear range: 1x drivetrains may not have as extensive a gearing range as 2x drivetrains. (Bigger Jumps) 3 - Component wear: 1x drivetrains experience increased component wear. (Chain monitoring is important) 4 - Chainline: 1x drivetrains have an angled chainline, which can be less efficient. (try rotating your crankset in reverse when the chain is on the top gear, that resistance is real). I think the most underestimated bargain is the new GRX 2x 12-speed Di-2 which is available for cheap money on certain magician labelled web sites who have excellent service 🫣
  3. Not surprised - more so - accomodation literally non-existent too - going to be a good one!
  4. Rain 🌧️ should be on the way for GP - some of the gravel cruising JHB south is great! Thaba trails too. i was there recently, in still washing my bike off of that red dust 😆
  5. In the end it depends on what your TSS target for the week is. if you're already a performant MTB'er, im sure you would be going for > 600-800 TSS leading up to an event. in the week of tapering, or post event recovery road can take the edge off while keeping the legs turning, but otherwise i wouldnt look at a road ride.
  6. Course for course, Intensity Factor on a MTB is always going to be higher than a road bike for the same rider/athlete. Its just psychologically easier to push into tempo on a MTB, knowing you're fighting the bobbing suspension, significant rolling resistance, geometry and bike weight. I've personally been able to spend more time out on a MTB than a road bike, probably due to comfort and "stoke" that keeps the momentum. As someone who trains alone, road riding is quite boring too.

Worth taking a look at the tests done on this site: https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/cx-gravel-reviews
  8. Combine wind, actual temps and the damp factor - weather app should read "stay the hell in bed 🛌 " 😂
  9. Not ideal, the drizzle nor the gusting.
  10. Saturday morning time-sapping, yet gratifying, projects 🫣
  11. agree with this - needs to be kept quiet
  12. Upvote diary of a ceo, bonk bros, lex friedman Downvote Tim Ferris, Andrew Huberman, Peter Attia The days of drawn out monologging podcasters are drawing to a close IMO.
  13. Not easy to watch this - but am curious to how the driver was given his license back and also such a low bail amount. Any lawyers on BH who can give an explanation? I can only imagine that working for the navy, no prio's etc has given the leniency from the court. The fact that he drove off, was caught sleeping in the damaged car .... blood boils ...
  14. Next level results for Hatherly and Lill 👏🏻👏🏻🇿🇦- and the privateer status for Lill is extra 👌🏻
  15. Sorry for the photo dump, but my answer is easily my crux with aethos DNA. Ive traded, kept a ton of bikes, but none that touch the crux. Its easily my default happy bike.
  16. Rode thru there today - ride slow and bring a bell folks - car guards and the market are the problem, not the painted road. (The new tar is great to ride on!)
  17. One ponders when Wahoo wont extract this tech from the kickr bike to be sold separately as its own controller, its open and works on all indoor apps. The virtual gear changing control mechanism only seems to work with Zwift if you buy the Zwift Play/Click/Ride.
  18. Completely agree. In addition, i enjoyed Jai Hindley's stage 5 win to briefly wear the yellow jersey - such a good kid, hoping he features more this year. (Altho i realise there is focus on Primoz "crash bandicoot" for the GC) Im not sure where i stand on Jasper Philipsens shenanigans last year - the controversy around his aggression for the stage wins will only drive similar tactic escalation this year, he and Mathieu will be marked - i foresee some sprint crashes of note. I remain optimistic about Cav getting no.35 ... maybe the others take each other out so he gets a clear run by stage 5 😝
  19. https://www.letour.fr/en/news/2024/watch-the-season-2-of-series-unchained-now/1316949 Sooo good 👌🏻👌🏻
  20. enjoy the trails - what a day to be out!
  21. the weather in the cape has been more than fair for riding lately, defs better than what ive been seeing in GP, but honestly the darkness in the morning does make the duvet-taco a better option. IMO Afternoon riding is the solution if work allows ...
  22. Curious to see what the landed price of the Zwift Ride will be in ZA - $1299 in the US, im imagining R26-28k @Ikhambi Distribution ? (Assuming that it will be brought in through Wahoo channels given that a core comes in the package deal)
  23. Some really nice updates in the 3.7.0 release out yesterday 👌🏻👌🏻

    Frozen Toes

You need a job that supports afternoon rides 🤣
  25. Ive got KWAY bags that do this too. Might be the local canvas suppliers problem.
